I think we're being harsh on him, perhaps he has some sort of neurological disorder like paraphasia, where he thinks he's saying nice and relevant things, but in fact what we hear is devil-talk.
Of course, he could also just be a complete [insert insult here].

...natural selection dictates the second option...

DarrkPhoenix: Am I the only one who, after reading the linked Gamespot article, had to check the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st? Some of the statements in there are just too ridiculous and over the top to take seriously.

It read like a parody. But it doesn't seem like it is. After all, every quote of his reads like a statement made by an insanely evil corporate tyrant. That guy is so far out of touch with his market it's amazing he's even on the same planet as them.
I have mixed feelings about this.
first of all, if they do it, then I'll be happy for them, because then they can develop soley for their activision machine and not worry about having to port crap over and over and over and they get to control the means of DLC.
second of all, I really don't like to see more competitors in the console business (shut up, they're talking about making their own console). I don't like it because it creates more crappy ports and puts a really hard time on developers.
It seems EA are OK now but Activision are pretty evil...

Activision have always been evil. EA are far better than they were. But that's really not saying much.
Why pay royalties to the console manufacters when you can make your own hardware and overcharge the consumer instead?!?
Makes total sence, but yeah, they're evil, and it's our fault..

Aliasalpha: He's going to turn all supervillain any day now and get beaten up by Batman. What should his evil name be? Scaremonger? Overcharger?

Oh, I think it's a bit late for that...

It's funny because it's true.
The only reason EA doesn't look so bad right now isn't because they've become less evil. It's because Activision has over taken them in pure evil.
And why no hate for Nintendo? Part of the Wii's business model is selling games that depend on different peripheral's.

So is every other console. Ever hear of Guitar Hero? EyeToy? Buzz? The list goes on and on.
this is clearly not a bad choice for activision. I really hope they take all their shovelware games with them to their new console and keep them the hell off the PC.
Well it's not like Activision has put out a decent game since..ever.The only exception Diablo 3 is still far away anyway.
