Frankly, it's creeping me out a bit. Someone (not mentioning usernames in case it's nothing) sent me a whole load of gobble-de-gook messages.

Tried running them through a translator to see if it was something to do with keyboard setup or language, but it's still gobble-de-gook. I answered a couple of times to wish them Merry Christmas and to explain that I couldn't understand a word they were typing, and so they sent me more messages and then blocked me.

Kind of weird....

PS Everyone, please check the advent calendar for the 24th - Ubivis has already given a sneak peek of what to do to win, and it should be a lot of fun!

Yes, I received some strange messages from "fabeu"

"fabeu" also posted one time: here. It also has "tgy0olyuhiy9ijt" in it.

Did the same thing happen to you?

They blocked you after a bit (or were kicked off, I think that may have been it)? It seems a very strange and pointless thing to do. Well, if it's a crazy knife-wielding stalker, I won't be off to the after-life alone at least :P

Thanks for replying though adambiser, Telika and JudasIscariot - it actually helped to put my mind at rest. I think I have a screenshot from before clearing out my personal messages, I'll go check.

Here is what I received. I blocked the user the next day, but I can't clear the messages.

It appears that the user is blocking PMs now.

Maybe he forgot how to type and now he's in panic mode. He wrote you guys, because he holds you his dearest friends, who would help him in time of need.

It seems a bit odd that we can't clear out the messages. I've just checked and all of the ones sent are back ;_;

Also that the times are similar and the translator programs online can't understand it - they're not great but they don't do too badly. Did you get messages after posting in the Advent Calendar adambiser? That's when I got sent these.

This is probably going to be some form of forum spam bot.

Thing is though with the GOG forums, they aren't the usual VBulletin type boards where the scripts work and dump adverts for mobile phones, meds and the likes into various places on the board.
