I have most of them sitting around, somewhere, on CD. Has anyone fired any of these up lately? How hard was it to get them running on a Win 7x64 box?

Yes, I'm an old fart (I'm 47) suffering a nostalgia attack.

(I have always presumed licensing issues meant that MechWarrior / Battletech games were like old Lord of the Rings games - something we will never see on GOG. Pity)
Not lately, but I think I have 2 lying around somewhere.
Fafnir + dual Heavy Gauss + dual ER PPC FTW!!
I have 4 and it's expansion. I hadn't thought of plaything them but with my new flight stick it might be fun.
Haven't played those in AGES. I don't even have my old copies, but then, I don't have a 3.5 drive any more, either.

sweet! What did you get? I'm thinking of getting a new stick, since mines in the shed at my ex's somewhere and I just bought a couple flight sims at the last sale.

CH Flightstick Pro USB
It's a really old model but lot of people in here swear by them.
Windows versions of MechWarrior 2 require and a bit of tinkering; some versions are unusable on modern systems ([url=http://www.gog.com/forum/general/old_3d/post17]details here).

MechWarrior 3 and 4 should run OK on modern systems.

Hmm i broke one of those years ago. I usually go with Thrustmaster stuff, it seems heavier duty, guess I'm a barbarian in a BF-109 :P

Thanks!
Mechwarrior 4 is free and awesome, I recently played it on win7 64bit, worked without problems.

I'm also interested in this question! For the spousal unit moreso than me, as he's the die-hard MW fan, but we too have old copies sitting around and currently have win7x64, so any advice would be appreciated.

The devs released it as freeware a couple of years ago, but I cant find official sites anymore. It is still up on other sites, like chip.de
