Yeah, looking back at that, there is no such thing.

Do you know why Destructoid was created? So the founder could go to E3.
Yeah, really.

Navagon: Assassin's Creed with actual gameplay? Yeah, I'm certainly interested!

Thanks for financing the finished product by buying the beta, suckers!

I did. So shoot me.

Clearly assassination via wrist blades would be a more applicable execution.
I'm starting to angry at people hating on good games... i not only bought the first one but i made sweet love to it with Barry Manilow playing. This new one is like your Girlfriends spunkier sexier younger sister which happens to have a crush on you and the ability to keep a secret.
In other words its good but you need the old girl to keep you warm at night ^_^ Because with out one there wouldn't have been the other....

Personally I thought the first one was really good. Would have been excellent if they'd added another assassination per town, had a bit of variety in intel gathering missions and removed the expansive and utterly pointless kingdom. Seriously, the only thing it was good for was showing off how good the horse animation was

The thing that really got me about the first game was how wordy it was. Every time you did anything to advance the story a little bit, you got a pretentious, five-minute speech. The people you assassinated talked a mouthful, and if you happened to begin a follow-and-beat-up mission right when one of the town announcer's speech had just ended, you had to wait until he started again and finished the whole thing.
In Assassin's Creed II, they remedy this by saying what they need to say with fewer words. The change is most visible with your assassination targets, which now say one or two lines, or sometimes nothing at all. It made the whole experience much more enjoyable, because you didn't have to deal with writers who thought they were the next Kojima.

...and not one of those pretentious speeches can be skipped, even if you are retrying the mission. Hammer keys as much as you like, Assassin's Creed cares not.
Oh, and let's not forget that when you give up in disgust you will find that quitting the game is an ordeal in itself if you were (un)lucky enough to play the PC version.

It was ridiculous. First you had to leave Animus. Then you had to "quit", then sign out, then sign back in again and then finally click "quit" again. Also the fact that it crashes constantly...I never got round to finishing it due it to being such a lame port. Gameplay wise though, it wasn't really that impressive. It was OK nothing particularly exceptional. I'd say that the game has actually aged terribly...even though it is a year old.
Loved the first one, warts and all. I can't wait to get the PC release (schedule for the first quarter of 2010, BTW).
Coincidentally, I picked up the first game on Friday for $5 at Best Buy as a part of Black Friday.
It's definitely worth $5, maybe $20 but it does get repetitive really fast. Definitely not one of those horrible ports from console to PC though.
Since I've heard the second one improves on it in every way then I can't wait for it to come out for PC.
