Any of those through bundles?

grviper: Any of those through bundles?
It was featured in a Humble Bundle.

edit: I wonder where are all the anti-Steam, pro-choice buyers in that total. They sure are loud when it comes to complaining.

Was the price consistent across all services?
I bought it on release and it is an awesome funny little game.

I stand to what I said countless times before. You can dislike Steam, but you can't ignore the positive effect it has on the indy scene.

It should be noted that (at least GG) was DRM free. So much for DRM free improving sales.

The base price was the same at least on GG and Steam. Steam had it at least once on sale, so that has to be considered.

Hahahahahahahahaha...

Remind me to link to this thread in the future.
When I read that article, I wondered why did they even mentioned Impulse, D2d etc - their sales numbers looks like rounding error next to Steam numbers.

It also reminded me quote from GamersGate CEO:
"I've said it before and I’ll say it again, Steam's market share can only shrink."

I was gonna say the humble bundle might've thrown it off quite a bit but the numbers are from December, no bundle then... wow, that's a pretty crazy difference.

Edit: Hmm perhaps not, not sure what 'Through December' is, it might include all before it? Then again, it couldn't include all the bundles either since that was around 300k+

The only hitch could possibly be that bundles activated in that time might be counted as well, although you could wonder why they'd bother putting it up on a sales chart then.

Haha, that's pretty wild.

Also, for those who don't already own AZS in some fashion, buy it immediately. The game is fantastic.

They mean from release to the end of December. Desura is marked as having a shorter sales period, and it was released there in September.

HIB 3
Within 17 hours, the Bundle had broken $500,000 in total sales with over 107,000 bundles purchased, a significant improvement relative to the Frozenbyte bundle
AZS was added later as a bonus, so there were at least 100,000 who got it both as a download and as a Steam key.

So, are those 90,000 the bundle effect or direct Steam purchases?
You all forget one thing. This game was part of the Steam Event ;) That's why it sold so much on Steam... If GG make something similar... they will sell that much.
This has nothing to do with DRM Free ;)
I'd expect Steam to be the best-seller unless you put enough effort into marketing other channels. It would be a waste not to sell the game there if you can. Still, this isn't a very informative result. 372,399 people already bought a copy in July so December's 98,199 sales would have been mostly those who heard of it from the Gift Pile. Also, Steam was much cheaper than anywhere else (if I recall correctly, $2.50 on Steam, $15 from the developer, $10 from Desura, $6 from GamersGate).

I would be interested in seeing some other months, not just for less bias but also to see what effect December has on sales patterns.
Humble bundle + there was winter holiday achievement in this game on steam.

True, if I remember correctly, there was an achievement added for the coal hunt. A huge advantage.
