KavazovAngel: Tell me exactly which company does not want to promote its services/software/whatever?
avatar
Navagon: What does that have to do with anything?

"desperate to promote"
But never mind.
Back on subject, the only bad thing about GFWL is the freaking region restriction. Other than that, I think its a good service.

I thought I placed that comment firmly enough in context with a clear example. Oh wait, yes, so I did. So what bit aren't you understanding then?

BrowncoatGR: GFWL is absolutely terrible.

QFT
Of course what do we mean by GFWL. Is it something we have to activate our games with but they don't actively support it completely and if we use too many activations we can't play our games and we are SOL? (of course they traditionally have avoided telling the user there are activations) Is it a amaturish disaster where if you have a problem you might end up looking at xbox live help because links point you to the wrong area?

Activating GFWL titles is completely optional; unless you specifically want Live functionality (achievements, DLC and multiplayer) you can just install and play using an "offline profile". You only need to create an offline profile once and after that you can use it with any other GFWL games.

Well, that must be a new feature - when I HAD to sign up for GFWL for Viva Pinata 2+ years ago. I don't remember it being optional. However, you are right because with Fallout 3 it was optional.
