AFnord: Play the series in order, there is a connecting story.
I don't know if you Canadians have access to Gamer's Gate Void, but you can play the game for free from there:
http://se.gamersgate.com/FG-BLMI/black-mirror

And let someone invite you to void, that way they will get a small perk for their Void account.
I wonder if this will work for me in the UK? It doesnt list my country on the Void page but looking in the Gamersgate forums someone in the UK is using it (but they took part in a beta). The Black Mirror page does have "Add to Slot" button for me though. If inviting me wouldn't lose anything (incase it doesnt work for me) I'd appreciate an invite! Got Black Mirror 2 and 3 in the deal but haven't played the first.

Gonchi: Black Mirror 2 and 3 DRM Free for $1 min? Why didn't anyone post this in the Gaming Deals thread (or did they and I missed it?), that's a great deal.
I posted it, not sure if anyone else did before me though, thread moves quite quickly :)

I had GG account for pretty long time now never used void due to fear of drm from ads so I don't know much about void sorry.

also when you bought the bundle did it take you to italian paypal page? whats up with that do you just go through the process normally? I always feel skeptical about Gala even through they are one of the biggest bundle sites

Yeah the PayPal page was in a different language. Did seem odd, but figured maybe Gala are based there or something (looking at their Contact page guess I was right). Since the site has quite a few people using it, I just carried on. The process went as normal. I think after logging in to PayPal it was in English.

Yea, Gala is based in Italy, hence why it defaults to the Italian paypal page (they really should change that though). You can change country (and thus language) from the paypal page that it directs you to, you just need to know your country's name in Italian.

As for Void, I have already invited enough people for me to have a good "slot", so if anyone else wants to send out the invite to Sai, then that would probably be for the best.
To my knowledge, it won't work in the UK though.

As for DRM, it does not seem to install anything nasty. You do need to be online when you start the game though, as it streams 2-3 short adds before you get to play the game (here in Sweden I get the same ones as I get on youtube).
I played the first game a few years ago but it wasn't too great. It has a really nice setting and it tries real hard but some of the voice acting is so bad it hurts, especially when it comes to the main character. The game isn't bad but it isn't great either. The ending was a nice idea too but it went a little into ridiculous territory. It's an ok game but it wasn't enough to make me want to play the rest of the games in the series.

I think the later games get better as they go on. I did watch a live playthrough of the first game a long time back and remember people laughing at the terrible voice acting and certain parts of the game. But I also remember watching a little bit of one of the later ones and the overall impression seemed to be better. On AdventureGamers review scores they gradually gave them an extra half a star per game heh. Of course I haven't played them myself yet though, so can't say either way.

oh that's a neat deal, thanks i didn't know about it. But i won't get it because i don't think i'll be playing them anytime soon, my backlog isn't getting any smaller hehe.
Folks this site has serious design and execution problems so WATCH it. I used the link provided, created an account, made the purchase. But couldn't log in even though I'm certain password was correct. Then attempted to use the password recovery system which didn't send e-mail. I tried a second time by signing up for an account the 2nd time. I expected to tell me the e-mail address was in use.....it didn't! So I signed up again. Used a relative simple password, to ensure no funny business checked the "collect private info according to Italian law" (Italian law?!?) and THEN received the confirmation e-mail. Did the purchase a second time ($0.99 so didn't sweat it as I have receipts) and was able to access the products. I'll be sending a complaint to these guys as its clear the site has serious design flaw issues and lack of proper testing so watch yourselves. Start from http://www.indiegala.com and work from there unless you want the same frustration I did. Talk about sloppy design/testing. Fortunately Google Cart keeps easy to retrieve records.
