I like Bulletstorm so much I gave it away here once. :D

I played it for a while but didn't have enough time to finish it. And i can say that amongst modern shooters this is one of my favourites. Also characters and dialogues I enjoy much more than those in other games. I would pick Grayson Hunt over Gordon Freeman every day. He is fun, he feels more real and reacts to what is going on. And I didn't mind swearing either. It's a really good game in my opinion.

Is it really rare, though? Or does it just seem rare thanks to a huge glut of bad FPS games?

The FPS to the current gen is like the 2D platformer to the 8-bit gen; lots and lots of genre-titles to ride the wave of popularity. I agree there are tons of FPS games that sucks, but there are tons of FPS games in general and I feel like I've enjoyed quite a number of them over the last six years.

I agree on Bulletstorm's quality, though. It's definitely one of the best.

Yep, I guess maybe the humor is lost on me, which is odd, I usually like crude humor, this one just rubbed me the wrong way.

Rare as in, actually enjoyable and fun

Something which many FPS games do not have this gen

Good modern shooters aren't that rare, and shitty shooters from yesteryear weren't as rare as people keep making them out to be either. Sturgeon's Law still applies today just as it did back then.
