Hey all! My son and I really enjoy games with cartoony graphics and decent gameplay. I was wondering if you have any recommendations of games to try?

Since there are so many different ideas of "cartoony", I'm going to refine what I'm looking for to you a little bit...

I would prefer recommendations to be:

1) Truly "cartoon" graphics... If it feels like you're controlling a cartoon on a show, movie, etc, that's what I'm looking for.
2)Higher resolution graphics...Though I enjoy 8-bit games, very few have the style I'm looking for. I want higher definition than what traditional 8-bit usually offers.
3)Gameplay that's at least decent.... If the artwork and environment is enjoyable, it can make up for some gameplay flaws to me.
4)Preferably not a Point-and-click Adventure game... I love these types of games but already have too huge of a backlog of them (but I won't complain if you recommend one).

Some games that fit the type of Art Styles I'm looking for:

Castle Crashers
Da New Guys
Super Meat Boy
Zelda: Windwaker
Curse of Monkey Island
Karateka
Chester
Beyond Good and Evil
Rayman Origins (forgot about this one, thanks TinyE)
XII

I appreciate any recommendations you offer.

Many blessings to all of you and your loved ones :)

***Edit- Added games as I thought of more examples

You're looking for this :

The sequel is also on GG.
I'd suggest Claw, assuming you can find a copy of it. Do check the links in the Wikipedia article, who knows what may be found there.

Edit: Obligatory wishlist entry

Closet thing I can recommend is this:

Mutant Mudds
Torchlight 1 and 2.
I was a huge fan of ZPC back in the day. Probably hard to find now, and maybe to violent for your son?

Postal 2 :P
The HD port of Jet Set Radio springs to mind. I had a lot of fun with that game on Dreamcast

Rayman games are great! I own all of 'em so far and am looking forward to Rayman Legends coming out this fall.

I actually don't dig them because of Ubi Soft. I have the disc and between the DRM and bugs it's just not worth it. I recommend them because I figured GOG has their act together enough to clean up the crap from the roms.
Psychonauts is cartooney but I found it infuriating to control. If you're a more capable gamer than I (which is not difficult), then it'll fit the bill.
Before recommending anything - how old is your son and what type of games does he enjoy playing?
Sorry for being point'n'clicky, but I have to recommend Sam&Max.

And the Freedom Force series is awesome. That's hanna-barbera cartoony, even.
