Scandic mythology ftw, excellent names there.

Neverwinter Nights also has a great name generator :)

but as for stock names, Leh/Leah Dzebo is the way to go :)
I have a cast of characters that I have been playing games with for years. Today though with limited character slots (single player) it usually boils down to one of a set of brother and sister twins. Azaghal-Kain (Mage) and Azabeth-Kain (Theif / Mage)
I think I named my last mage type character "Toasty" and my last rogue type character "Stabbity". Yep... like that.

Zchinque: The last game I can remember playing where I had multiple characters I had to name was Diablo II, and I gave everyone very pragmatic names corresponding to their respective character build - I had the two amazons MageAzon and Burizon, MeleeSorc the sorceress, the Necromancers Overlord and MeleeMancer, and so on and so forth.
Those are some good names for Battle.net characters :)

That they would be. Of course, I played single player. Only single player.
I generally assign female characters Chinese names, for which the first choice tends to be Mei Ling if available (in the case of MMOs).

Male characters will generally be named either Dyson (from Isamu Dyson, not the UK-made hoovers) or given Japanese surnames.

I rarely name characters ban, bansama or a variation thereof (including Van, from which ban originates).

Pets on the other hand are generally given English names.
