hi there :)
is civilization 2 gonna come to gog.com any time soon?
Its not been announced but since Firaxis is a smaller company, there might be more hope than most
They're a subsidiary of Take 2 nowdays but I'm not sure what level of control T2 would have over Firaxis when it comes to releasing stuff on DD sites

Civilization, Civilization 2 and the old Colonization were published by Microprose, so I hope to see this gems maybe someday on gog. I also don't have a good feeling to see Firaxis and Take2 on gog. I really would like to take a look on Alpha Centauri, because it is the only civ-game I didn't play.
Edit: It seems that Sid got also the rights of his old games back. My hope to see the old games maybe someday here is a little bit lost :-( wikipedia: "Sid Meier, who now works at Firaxis Games, eventually got the rights of most of his games back under his control from Atari Inc."

Who would want to play Civ2 when you have Civ4 + beyond the sword anyway?

Me. Civ4 has many wonderful new features, but I have real problems with this 3d-graphics. A combination of Civ4 (new features, diplomacy) and Freeciv (great city management, overview) would be perfect for me.

I was never a fan of much beyond Civ 3, 4 seemed to oversimplify things too much

Don't forget the importance of nostalgia, it is the well from where GOG gets its income. Besides Civ2 is a very good game.

If you're not playing Beyond the Sword you're missing A LOT of depth and fun. Go and install it!!

Before the install, just buy IT! :P
Beyond the Sword lets you install the free Fall From Heaven 2-mod, which pretty much turns Civilization IV into THE BEST GAME EVAR! Seriously, it's just amazing.
Anyhoo, I'd welcome both Civ 1 and 2 on GOG. They can't replace Civ IV: BTS, but I did play Civ 1 a lot this summer, and it's still an enjoyable game which is actually different enough from Civ IV that it felt fresh to play again after all these years (and hundreds, if not thousands, of hours spent with Civ IV).
I doubt Take Two would let Firaxis sign a deal with GOG on their own, though, so the only way to get them would be if GOG got a deal with Take Two. Which would of course be pretty awesome in itself.
GTA3, VC & SA on GOG complete with soundtracks? Oh yeah, that'd be a sweet deal...

Note that if you already have the PC versions of GTA3 and VC the soundtracks are included on the Play disc in WAV (GTA3) or MP3 (VC).
Yeah but they're not exactly individual songs

Ah, good point! I just listen to them straight through anyway so I never thought of that. :)
