Walk like an Egyptian.

Children of the Nile Complete, a visually appealing and complex, yet accessible, historical city-building sim set in the colorful and fascinating ancient Egypt, is available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $3.99 for the next 24 hours!

With power, comes responsibility. With power given by the gods themselves, comes the greatest responsibility of them all. A Pharaoh is a god, walking the Earth, and it's not only the earthly fate of the people that rests in his hands. He is to lead them into and in the afterlife as well. He needs to make sure, he'll never be forgotten, because if the memory of him is lost, lost are the souls of his worshipers and subjects. The fates of the Pharaoh and the Children of the Nile are bound forever--in this life and the next. It is up to him to provide stability, wealth, and safety of the people in both worlds. Building monuments to ensure immortality, while taking care of the mortal flesh--now, isn't that a task worthy of the son of the gods?

Children of the Nile Complete is a city-builder game that combines high level of detail and accessibility in gameplay. Starting your dynasty of Pharaohs is quite easy, making its glory last for generations, however, will prove challenging. The game's appealing visuals make your efforts feel very rewarding, as you see your loyal subjects prospering, the land flourishing, and your city growing--all a testament to your god-given power. The Complete edition offered here, contains both the basic Children of the Nile game, and its Alexandria expansion, to provide you with dozens of hours of deep and realistic gameplay.

Do you feel the calling to become the representative of the gods on Earth, start your own dynasty, and lead the Children of the Nile through many generations to come? Better get going, then! Get the game for only $3.99 and set out for Egypt today! The offer lasts until Tuesday, August 6, at 9:59AM GMT.

Bloodygoodgames: It's just a bit poorly designed. Screens are far too small and squashed into the main information about the game, like an afterthought.

I can see why they did it, as they're trying to give more prominent placing to other games on the right column to get people to buy more, which I think is a good idea. I just think there's a better design :)

Plus, in most cases, the right hand column is actually better on the left as that's where people's eye is naturally drawn on the computer screen when a page loads (that's what Google AdSense recommends for their ads, as more people click on them when they are on the left as on the right).

That means, in many cases, more people would notice the "Customers who bought this game also bought" panel MORE if it was on the left than on the right.

Just sayin :)

Endzville: Looks fine as is to me, to be honest. Screenshots could be a little bigger, I suppose, but it doesn't really matter since you can click on them the same way as before. Plus, they've not only added a section at the right where you can easily find other games in a series but also done the same for DLC, which no longer takes up room on your games page anymore as if they were standalone games.

Anyway, for $4 I may pick this up. Not a particularly huge fan of city builders though, so who knows?
My only complaint is that the game page is off balance now, when you scroll down you have this huge space to the right of the reviews which really takes the focus away from the reviews, they need to either expand the review section to balance the page better or put something new there.
Bought this ages ago, love it, definitely recommend it.
Where is Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom and the rest of Ceasar games, GOG?

Buy the way, buy Children of the Nile, it's a good game, and on GOG you have lots of extras attached to it.

I could get behind that, especially if they made it so that you could write longer reviews.

On the other hand: I got used to menu bar on the top of the page - guess I get use to everything

I guess they did it alo to bring up the series box .The reason for that seems to be that "buy/complete" the series sales are back, as example buy both Deus Ex together for 35% off. http://www.gog.com/game/deus_ex

Edit: Maybe easier to understand what I mean by adding a screenshot. ;-)
Edit2: Or you just read Alfies3000 earlier postings... I really should not post en passant.

Oh fuck me... Why did they change how the game card looks like?

For god's sake, people are buying 20inch+ monitors and then they get a page that main information covers 1/8 of the screen.

Great choice people. Make your websites even smaller.

Ps. Emperor: Rise of the middle kingdom.

Pps: On the other hand, it's good to see bundles back/ And it looks like we have many more series bundled now? Cool!

looks more like an Indie game promo, I was hoping for some older classic
Curious if anyone can help, and it pertains to reviews, and we know how valid they can be! :P

I'm seeing it called fun and laid back and then in other places I'm seeing it called WAY too heavy on the micromanagement side. These opinions seem to contradict each other. Any thoughts?
How is this one compared with Pharaoh?
A good one to start city building with?
Instabought, thanks GOG!
What GOG needs, or gaming in general, is an alternative city builder. I had a few ideas, my best one being "Slum Builder". Build the lowliest most crime ridden pile of shit you can and be successful! Don't put that police station too close to the residential district or else your sims won't move in and build crack houses! You are going to need more hospitals, expect lots of gunshot injuries. Make sure you have plenty of pawn shops; your sims are going to need places to fence those stolen goods! The possibilities are limitless.
The heck did you guys do to the gamecard? It looks horrid :/

Not getting this as I have Zeus, and that's enough for me. When's Emperor coming ?
