Anyone play this? What did you think of it? If you liked it, what was good about it? If not, what was bad about it? Or a mix of both good and bad?

I recall the gaming press being tough on this game but I always wondered if it was actually decent despite the bad press. We all know how that can go sometimes.
It's not that bad,but to beat it on hardest difficulty I used cheats.
It's not horror and there are a lot of better FPS,but if you can buy it for 1 or 2 € is worth that price.
I don't recall much as I only played a small part in the beginning but what I do remember is that the game had a lot of QTEs and I've never enjoyed those. I also recall the setting wasn't exactly interesting, but I can't really comment as I've no idea by now what it was about.
It followed in the shadow of the amazing Undying which is why it got bad press I think.

It is very much a console shooter and works much better with a gamepad, just the mechanics in general. The story itself is a little eerie but thats about it. Visually it does look really nice in all fairness with good variation of enemies and monsters.

The gameplay itself is very linear corridor type shooter and there are a fair few QTE in it, buddy AI can be a bit stupid at times, you give them commands to get to cover and they can run around like headless chickens. This then leads to you having to run around trying to revive them without getting killed yourself.

It just feels a bit of a chore to play at times, it does have its moments and the whole time travel type aspect in the story is pretty good. Its worth getting if you see it cheap in a sale, just don't expect another Undying!
It's not the best FPS out there, but it's fairly cool, for me personally it's had its memorable moments. A good game overall.
Decent tunnel run FPS - i liked Clive Barker's Undying whole lot more. It was great once it got properly started.
Speaking of Undying, since it was published by EA and made by DremWorks Interactive (which was bought by EA in 2000), I was wondering if there where a digital retailer out there who may be focusing a little on older games and already had some dealings with EA already. Might be a little bit of license hell with CLive Barker? but if such a site existed, this is one of the games they might look into resurrecting again.
I loved the heck out of it, bought it for PC and 360 at release. The QTE's arent hard I think the camera panned to where you were supposed to press or there was some visual clue like that, but you can cheat past them iirc.

The characters are great, allowing decent replayability, the ending was pretty vague as it was supposed to be part of a trilogy that never happened, but I thought it was a fun game.

You can get the disc version of it from the Mastertronic Sold Out range, works fine on Win 7. With the Sold out range you can get 3 games for a tenner with free delivery.

I haven't bought a single physical disc game for the last 6 years.... got rid of the lot then.

I still occasionally buy disc based games. Most the time is going to GAME and getting stuff that can be activated on Steam as they can be a bit cheaper a few weeks after release.

In a way this game is terribly underrated, but here's where it does actually fall down:
1) The ending should win an award for completely shit endings. It doesn't just appear thrown together, it appears thrown together in a manner to piss off the player.
2) You can pew-pew easymode with Ghost Bullet, once you get it there's little reason to use any other skills.
3) The guy with the Fire Demon basically sucks to play, it's painful when you're possessing him.
4) The gunplay is weak, which should be unforgiveable for a shooter, but I consider the shooting to be simply the mechanics rather than the genre here.

The good points:
1) Awesome atmosphere, seriously, the game goes from fucked up to positively revoltingly grotesque. Even with it's rather serious faults fans of horror games really need to play it just for this reason.
2) Unlocking journal entries is fun, it's literally the only way to find out the truth about some characters, ironicly even some of the things they "know" about each other are lies or mis-assumptions.
3) Regardless of number 2, the character banter is actually fun.
4) The conceit of how you control the characters is interesting, if disturbing. The characters complain about it, some won't let you "in" at the beginning, etc.

As a final warning, yes, the game includes QTEs, I would hope that's not a reason to completely discount a game these days, but if you really, really hate them, I thought I should mention...

Again, this game is worth it for the atmosphere alone, you can get it in any bargain bin for console for 5 bucks or so, PC should be cheap too, there's no reason to not play it. I'd tell you which parts are creepy, but the game just gets more fucked in every area, you really can't stop playing even if you hate it, you have to see the new areas.

OMG. It just occurred to me that I always confused this game with another one. I thought Jericho was this MMORPG with shooter gameplay which also had some famous guy's name in its title. Because I'm not much into MMOs I never tried Jericho - way to go! :P

Edit: Oh, even worse. I confused it with Tabula Rasa which did not even have someone's name in its title. :P I watched a trailer for Jericho before it was released, then I hard something about Tabula Rasa, I thought it was the same game ever since. -.-

I really liked undying.Have never really tried jericho since my backlog is already pretty full and extensive.Although it would be nice to see undying on gog some day.......It is a real pity that undying never quite got a sequel.
I liked Jericho. Mostly for reasons already stated. And having bought the game for about £1-3 on steam I was quite impressed and enjoyed it more then most AAA titles like Call of Duty etc.
It had great atmosphere. I found the enemies to be generally creepy at times and some levels were really well done.
I love the character chats.
I like games where your with a squad so I got interested to this game thanks to that.

However the ending completely sucked. I was expecting something to happen after the credits but no it just ends like that.
The combat in the game could of been better.
QTEs. The game has quite a few of them. Some were a bit annoying at times too but I don't really hate them much but I know many people that hate QTEs in games.

Still in total for how cheap the game is. It is worth a playthrough.
