So I got to the mission in Freespace 2 where the Colussus needs to destroy the Sathanas and I need to assist it by destroying the remaining beam turrets.
So in a glorious explosion the Sathanas dies, Samuel L Jackson tells me to "clear the area and return to base."
After the area is cleared, all the objectives complete I waited around for 10 minutes for a return to base order, it never came. So I just hit alt+j to be done with it.
What do I get? A court marshal. I fail the mission. Out of the game.
Is this a bug or something? Is there a mission skip? This was really annoying and quite a hard mission too...
Edit: So the idiot posts this in General Discussion instead of Freespace Series.
Well it's not like anyone reads any of the other forums anyway.

Is it one of those ones where you have to hit a hyper beacon?
Have you watched it on youtube to see when the jump order is supposed to be issued?
I think you can skip after you fail twice or 3 times

I haven't seen it no, and no mention of any kind of beacon was ever made I don't think.
Yeah sounds like a bug. Afraid it sounds like you're in for a replay. Are you using FS2Open? That seemed to limit crashes and bugs
Yeah I'm using FSO.
Just saw the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zB5UctL2nqw
That video is almost identical to what I did (only I had 2 beam turrets to take out) and got no order whatsoever. :\
the freespace2 wiki info page for that mission
For cheats, here - There is no console '~' type entry, just type it in and as long as you have not bind end-mission to anything in the list, it will work.
No option to auto end a mission, but instead mark goals (primary and secondary) as complete. You can return to base any time after their entry.
Well I finally got there. Now I have a Cain and Rakshasa to deal with. Boo.
