Hi folks! We know that many of you are wondering why Divinity: Original Sin isn't yet available on GOG.com and when will it be released here.

Here's the official update from Larian Studios' Kickstarter page:
We’ve been secretly working on supporting GOG Galaxy, the new sexy online multiplayer platform from GOG.com and are happy to announce that full GOG Galaxy integration will be available for Divinity:Original Sin.

GOG is still working on launching Galaxy, so before that happens, our Kickstarter backers who have selected GOG.com as the digital distribution platform will be able to use Direct IP or LAN options to play in multiplayer. Once GOG Galaxy launches (by the end of August, the folks at GOG tell us), they will be able to take advantage of all the features this DRM-free online gaming platform offers.

So, there you have it. Rest assured that Larian's new monumental RPG is coming to GOG.com, and both the developer and ourselves are making sure you'll get it in the best possible form.

EDIT: The expected release date for this title is August 31, sorry for not communicating that properly.

EDIT#2:

This thread is no longer current. Please refer to the new Divinity: Original Sin - Status Update thread for more information. Thank you! :)

jamyskis: Oooooh, lurvely.

Does this mean a GOG Galaxy announcement with more concrete details in the immediate future?
Yes! I edited this post so many times that somehow the expected date for the launch (a Galaxy-supported launch, mind you), that is August 31, somehow got lost. Sorry about that.

jamyskis: I think what G-Doc made a piss-poor attempt at trying to convey is that Divinity: Original Sin's GOG Galaxy support will be launching on 31 August, but the game itself will be launching tonight or tomorrow, sans online play for the time being.

reaver894: I hope that is the case. (i have my doubts)

Maybe he will be polite enough to actually confirm or deny this
Look, guys - I don't know how to put it simpler to leave no room for confusion. The game will be available to KS backers for now, but without the online multiplayer component. The full public GOG.com release is planned for August 31, as our online platform GOG Galaxy should be up to support it by then.

I'm not sure about the Sunday thing. May wait for Monday, September 1st, or go with Friday, August 29. For all we know, Sunday release is also a possibility.

jcdenton11: So why wasn't the game available today as promised, and this confusion added to boot? Is Larian that incompetent that they can't send you a build or is it on your end?
And just one post later, wiggle room is found. ;-)

To the best of my knowledge Larian was to provide us with a build today, so the keys KS backers got from Larian can be activated. Hasn't this happen yet? I'll do my best to give you an update on that ASAP.

Tormentfan: Are you being serious?

Do you think we'd all be bitching about this if we had access to the game?
Yes, I am being serious. As I said - to the best of my knowledge, the build should have been made accessible to the KS backers by 5PM GMT today. I haven't read the thread, I admit, and for that I am sorry, but to my defense I had a really busy day, week, month, I'm tired and this is late evening for me. I thought the problem was mainly the fact I missed the part about full release date.

I have contacted our product department and I've been told that there's been even more delay than I expected, but the build should be up in about 30 minutes.

I'm very sorry for your stress. Now, that I understand what the actual problem is, I can imagine how you must feel - not being able to start playing the game you're probably as anxious to get your hands on as I am.

I'll let you know as soon as I get the notice the build is up.

EDIT:
Upvoted.

I just got word that the build is up, and hurried to tell you, but I see you guys already know.

Again, sorry for the stress this situation has caused you, and for my not-so-good attempt at explaining it.

I'm sorry that I don't have better news for non-backers, as of today.

epain: The download links point to the wrong URL, the URL's are missing the "file" part, otherwise they are correct.

downlink -> file -> divinity_original_sin -> filename

Apparently I cannot post any links at the moment, so you gotta manually correct the URL's yourself!

edit: Attached a pic with the correct URL's
Hi,

Have you tried downloading the game with our Downloader?

JudasIscariot: Hi,

Have you tried downloading the game with our Downloader?
avatar
Reaper9988: The Downloader works but I didn't want to use it on this comp.

Still you should fix the URL asap it does look kinda sloppy :P
Have you tried downloading with the Downloader mode turned off?
For those of you having trouble with the links acting up, please send us a ticket to Support as we are trying to troubleshoot this very issue. Please try to provide as much information as possible. Thank you :)

Reaper9988: Seems the problem is really just the missing "file" in the URL. I'll write a ticket though.
Thanks :)

AstralWanderer: Raised a ticket (FAUQDC72) 11 hours ago but here's all the information needed:

The GOG account page for Divinity: Original Sin provides the following links for the installers, which all result in a 404 page:

https://secure.gog.com/downlink/divinity_original_sin/en1installer1
https://secure.gog.com/downlink/divinity_original_sin/en1installer2
https://secure.gog.com/downlink/divinity_original_sin/en1installer3

Changing these links to:

https://secure.gog.com/downlink/file/divinity_original_sin/en1installer1
https://secure.gog.com/downlink/file/divinity_original_sin/en1installer2
https://secure.gog.com/downlink/file/divinity_original_sin/en1installer3

allows the downloads to work. However other games use installer links without the /file/ subfolder so the issue is almost surely with the code that's supposed to link the GOG-supplied download links to EdgecastCDN URLs.

cyboff: Hey Judas, can you please explain me, why are you so obsessive with those tickets? You are not speaking with each other in the office or what? Where is the problem with the download link is quite clear here, don't you think?
We do speak with each other in the office but when it comes to technical issues like this, it's best to have everything in a central location so that we can determine, instead of assuming, both the scope of the problem and inform the proper department along with the information collected via support tickets about the problem.

In short, support tickets keep everything organized :)

fe79: Why then, after seeing so many customers complaining about this issue, did you not log a support ticket yourself? Instead you simply repeated your mantra "try the downloader" over and over again. To me, it felt a bit like listening to an outsourced support "technician" in India reading the lines from his response script.

Had you been just a little bit proactive, the problem could have been solved already. If you guys intend to expand your business with Galaxy and whatnot, you are going to really have to up your game with regard to support.
I only mentioned the Downloader twice, once to see whether it worked and once to see if there was an issue with having the Downloader mode turned on and the person attempting to download the game doesn't have the Downloader installed on their system.

The reason I asked for those affected to log a support ticket is because if there is a server-side issue with the downloads, we need to see exactly which region or regions are affected as we don't have just one server but several of them around the world, as is standard for a Content Delivery Network or CDN.
