jamyskis: Oooooh, lurvely.

Does this mean a GOG Galaxy announcement with more concrete details in the immediate future?
avatar
G-Doc: Yes! I edited this post so many times that somehow the expected date for the launch (a Galaxy-supported launch, mind you), that is August 31, somehow got lost. Sorry about that.
I could care less about Galaxy, when is my KS code going to be redeemable for this game? I'm sure as hell not waiting a month for your proprietary platform.

Did I read that correctly? D:OS is releasing on GOG August 31st?

Reever: WTF am I seeing? :D

But seriously, some people overreact! Only because the game will be one day late you'll switch to Steam? *facepalm*

It ISN'T cool what's happening, but it's not the end of the world. Chill!
Indeed. I've never been able to quite fathom why people go apeshit over individual games.

I was looking forward to this as well, but I found out at the 11th hour that the boxed version had forced Steam use. Cancelled the preorder, put the money towards Murdered: Soul Suspect for the PS4, which I can likely enjoy tomorrow and play something else in the meantime. Simple. Calm. Logical.

The idea of having a psychotic episode because a specific game's release is a day late strikes me as somewhat odd.

Hang on.. WHAT?

Our game is being delayed for TO MAKE CHANGES THAT WON'T ACTUALLY TAKE EFFECT UNTIL THE END OF AUGUST..... WHY THE DELAY?

Why can't this be seen to AFTER we get WHAT WE ARE DUE?

What kind of way is this to treat your customers?

I honestly think I'll just consider Steam from now on.. My support of you doesn't actually get me anywhere.

G-Doc: EDIT: The expected release date for this title is August 31, sorry for not communicating that properly.
Does that apply for Kickstarter backers too??

Added to which...

G-Doc: GOG is still working on launching Galaxy, so before that happens, our Kickstarter backers who have selected GOG.com as the digital distribution platform will be able to use Direct IP or LAN options to play in multiplayer.

...these statements appear to be in contradiction, unless the game is downloadable here in backers-only form for the next two months.

BreathingMeat: Does that apply for Kickstarter backers too??
As I understand it, Kickstarter backers will get their keys tomorrow. Everyone else will have to wait till August 31st. Could someone confirm this?

It's not really that it was delayed. It's the usual delay if you want it on GOG that is the problem. I'm sure it wouldn't be as much of an issue if both stores were delayed. That being said, I've grown and learned a lot of patience over the years. As long as this gets sorted out and both of my keys aren't tied to Steam, I am fine.

If thats the case then im afraid Steam will be getting my money. If the people that pre-ordered get their codes sooner thats fine but im not waiting 2 months for a title that doesnt NEED this galaxy piss.

I think what G-Doc made a piss-poor attempt at trying to convey is that Divinity: Original Sin's GOG Galaxy support will be launching on 31 August, but the game itself will be launching tonight or tomorrow, sans online play for the time being.

I hope that is the case. (i have my doubts)

Maybe he will be polite enough to actually confirm or deny this
I don't know what happen here to the game. But, basically, if i don't care at all about GOG Galaxy, will i be able to buy Original Sin on GOG tomorrow ?

lol come on! I'm not in any hurry to get the game today, so I don't mind waiting, but it's unbelievable that you managed to add more confusion with every clarification.

As the post stand now, it's hard not to conclude that D:OS is getting released here on Aug 31. Are you sure that's what you want to say? :)

The Opening post now states that:
EDIT: The expected release date for this title is August 31, sorry for not communicating that properly.

I don't think that he is referring to the galaxy client as "This title". But a sunday release?
