INTRODUCTION:
(as if minesweeper needs any, pah!)
This is just a little different from the version most of us know, so you might want to write this down. Yes, that includes you in the back, with the smug face. Now, listen up.
Attached is an 11-by-11 grid numbered A01 to K11, some of these contain dangers, a few contain prizes, most contain an indicator (consisting of red and green diodes) of how many dangers and prizes are nearby, and very few are completely empty.
The dangers are known in any adjacent compartment, but prizes give off an unusual signal and can only be measured two compartments away (one in between the indicator and the prize it’s indicating).
Unlike the Windows-bundled edition of the same game, opening a completely empty compartment, does NOT open up adjacent empty/indicator ones.
PRIZES:
(what are you on about? minesweeper doesn’t have prizes!)
This one does, five of them in fact, just to give you some incitement to play.
The prizes are fixed (already bought, as of this post), each one is a code for one specific $5.99 GOG. There’s no public list of which ones are there, and you can only know what you can not get (by looking at earlier prizes, because all are different). If you do not want what you get, you may trade/give it away to whom you wish, but I will not exchange it for something else - I’ve given it to you, and thus it’s yours to do with what you wish.
RULES:
(rules? for f*****g minesweeper? are you mad?)
Of course I am! First off: you must be at least this tall to ride *holds up a stick, 10 rep long*, any shorter and you’ll have to stand on the sidelines until you qualify. Anyway.
I will update the image approximately once every 24 hours (give or take a few). Each edit will be announced with a post saying just that, and will signify the end of that “round” and the start of the next. Between each edit, any number of you (whether or not you participated in previous rounds) may pick one compartment to open. If anyone picks more than one, I’ll disregard all but their first pick. If anyone picks a compartment that has already been opened (or that someone earlier will open this round), I will not ask for confirmation, any prize is designated to whoever opened it first but dangers do not cease to be dangerous.
If you open a compartment with a danger (a hole to the void, because it was easier drawing that than a mine), you’re out, and can no longer participate. The same if you find a prize (except in that case, you get to keep said prize), in order to let others have the chance to find one too. If it’s empty or contains diodes, you’re free to continue in the next round.
Let the diodes guide you.
