Kind of looks like the worst of both worlds
Those look very unwieldy and very clumsy.
Verdict: Epic Fail
Looks veeeery uncomfortable. I wonder how your wrists would feel after a prolonged session.
Does the joystick thing even has a proper base? Suction cups?
Not by the look of things, from the videoand images it sort of looks like the wii one
Looks exactly like the fragfx that has been out for ages. I'm actually considering getting something like that when I eventually get around to buying a PS3 so I can play games like killzone and mag. Need to see independant reviews on this though, and with someone that is a little better at fps games before I would consider getting it.
I personally don't think it's too bad. Seems like a good alternative to a keyboard but still usable for all games.
Looks pretty nice to me. Keep in mind that you wouldn't hold the wiimote-like thing the way the guy held it in the video. And you probably would use the mouse-like thing the way you use a mouse.
If I ever get around to buying a PS3 (God of War 3, MGS4, and the Drake games :p) I'll probably pick one up. Otherwise, I am content with what I have.
Fail. :D
<3 my Razer gear.
That thing looks, not like a Wiimote, but like a Wii nunchuck, only with much worse ergonomics. I can dig the concept. It's basically half an analog controller, that can be operated with one hand, giving you analog movement of your character. Combined with a mouse for camera control (well, eye control) and weapon control, this could work as an excellent control scheme. I don't think it will, though. That thing looks about as comfortable to handle as a brick, and I seem to recall that most console games, even though you can plug in a mouse if you want to, limit the speed of the camera movement to the maximum speed of an analog stick. If that's the case, then it'll actually be worse than just using a controller.
This looks horribly unergonomic. The problem is that the ABXY diamond really has no place to go but on the mouse, but putting it on the side like that will inevitably result in hitting the wrong button.
Additionally, remember that developers didn't plan for this. Some console games have you hold a thumbstick in a particular direction for a particular length of time, but to replicate this with a mouse you would need to move the mouse over a very large distance, either lifting and moving it repetitively or regularly hitting the alignment reset button if it has one. Mass Effect 2's planet-probing minigame is a perfect example of this (the PC version retained the console input behaviour for this minigame which made it very frustrating).

If when people come here asking how to use a controller and they are suggested to just suck it up and use keyboard and mouse. Why wouldn't somebody use a pad when playing a console? The game's are designed to be played with a pad, not a mouse.
You'd definitely need to stick to slower games with that thing. That's for sure. I've seen worse though. Like a mouse with the numeric keypad on top of it. Yeah, actually on top. Where your palm goes.
