Arkose: Which ones? As far as I know offline profiles work with every game.

I forgot which ones exactly, but regardless of GFWL, they didn't really interest me. Having a look through Google, FUEL caused dramas for people trying to save offline, Batman: AA likewise (though, creating an offline profile seemed to help in this case). There was some drama over Street Fighter IV in regards to GFWL - but I honestly can't remember the games off the top of my head.
I had read reviews of a couple of games where the reviewers were dumbfounded at the ability not to be able to save offline, but this was a year ago, if not two.
I think the problem with GFWL is that when it comes down to it, it's not standardised. However the developer sees fit to intergrate it, then that's how it is. Which is a shame.
If anyone has the GoogleFu to track down those elusive games, much +1 to you.
EDIT: Going to grope Fenix with a +1 of gropping.

Huh, that sucks. I haven't had any problems so far (the only game I've actually used an online profile for is Tinker >_> ) but that's definitely a disappointment.

Fenixp: Hello, Dawn of War 2.

I have offline achievements for DoW2 from when Live went down for 2 days

Arkose: Years from now when both Steam and GFWL servers are offline only GFWL titles will work offline straight from the original disc without needing you to hund down a crack first.

this argument again?
valve is not going anywhere in next few years.
out of all the arguments against steam this one is most retarded (no offence)
i saw threads: OH what will happen in 20 years if i want to play the game and i won't have cds.
just...
stupid.
steam is good. the one time internet activation is not a problem as you supposed to have internet connection today and if you don't then your loss. are you gonna complain that a game requires nivida series 8 or better?

Yes damnit! I want to run crysis 2 on an S3 Trio and I want it to come on a hundred thousand floppies which causes the box to weigh more than me!

lukaszthegreat: wow. its on steam... big deal.

Arkose: No, it uses Steamworks. Even if you buy the PC version at retail you'll still need to use Steam to play.
This is one reason why I actually prefer GFWL; unlike Steamworks you can totally do everything but multiplayer without even touching GFWL if you don't care to.

But should you want to go online, most GFWL games have limited GFWL activations on top of whatever DRM they already use. Once they're gone, you can can beg MS for one more activation but after that you're screwed. This REALLY sucks for DOW2 and SF4.

Aliasalpha: It is rather a shame, its a fun little slasher even if it does get predictable in places

Actually more like a more badass Zelda with some Sands of Time in between, not that someone gets the wrong idea. Know quite a few people who expected a biblical God of War. Most did then get the game and enjoyed it for what it really was.

Would that not only apply to the same serial on a different account? Did reinstall Windows two times and never had to activate my GfWL games another time.

Tantrix: Steam? Oh god dammit, once I was convinced THQ learned from DRM, now they are ruining it on their first Action Game?

Well that sucks big time... but I am not really surprised.
Oh well will just wait until it's dirt cheap and buy it on PS3...

Remind me of those who said "there is no risk to buying DRMed music from MSN Music because Microsoft is not going to anywhere in the next few years" they were soooooooo right.

It actually works offline, but you need to create account and log in on-line first

heck i like steam. hate cds. my batman AA cd looks damaged. left it on top of computer case for 4 months. forgot about it :D
now i wonder whether i will be able to reinstall the game.
my HL2 and Empire? who gives a flying f--- just redownload the game.

I have no really big issues with Steam. But I always fear of an overload of the servers if new Steam-only games come up.

Welcome to the club. I only bought a game on the first day once and that was Prince of Persia The Two Thrones. You don't know how my hype turned to rage by the censor, the Starforce and the crappy short game 8(
