Rincewind81: Why the hazzle? Why did the statement clearly states, that they will "add the game to the "New AND COMING" section of the homepage? Why not clearly write, that the game will be released and will be available in a couple of hours or even tomorrow? This is no misunderstanding.

The only clear statement right now is that Backers will get GOG keys and can download the game here - but not today -maybe tomorrow.
Maybe they suspected already that the game won't be ready to download today. Anyway, although it was not formulated well, when talking about the multiplayer aspect it was clear the game will be out in any case before galaxy would be implemented.
So is this going to become the norm for the big kickstarter releases? Gog loses a bunch of sales because they either can't put the games up at the same time as steam or won't explain why the game isn't up? I'm planning on getting wasteland 2 and Pillars here later this year. I guess I'd better be prepared to wait a few extra days.

But out for whom? Only for Backers who where promised Day 1 GOG Keys month ago? Or out for everybody?

Just four things.
1. No preorder option for one of the biggest releases this year. Why? Age of Wonders 3 was available for Preorder.
2. No clear statement from GOG or Larian about the release in the last weeks or even today! They just beat around the bush and talk about GOG Galaxy end of August.
3. Original Sin was one of the titles which should be a Day 1 Release - but only under the premise of Regional Pricing. This didn't end well. Larian is using regional Pricing for the Steam version. The version for Europeans is nearly 30% more expensive than the US version. If GOG compensate european users for this, they would give away their whole profit for the game... So why not wait until August when Larian is fine with "one world one price" - Daedalic and others did the same in the past and released the game here with a delay.
http://www.gog.com/news/letter_from_the_md_about_regional_pricing
4. The game is clearly not finished now. Steam offers autopatching and Larian can upload new builds and patches anytime. They even complained about the lack of features here compared to steam. So getting patches to GOG customers would mean extra work and needs time, because GOG builds the Updater and uploads it - this could be annoying if the update the game every 2 or 3 days. From this point of view it would make sense to delay the GOG version to a more stable release. And now read the official statement about "the best possible form" again...

Sometimes I wish to slap the face of somebody who is responsible for New & Coming tab, those games should be listed there seconds after Early access launch on Steam... This is unbelievable ignorance of new potential customers, who are just visiting site by the occasion of some sale...

More bullshit about adding it to 'new and coming' but no word on when we can get it?

This is bullshit.
I predict it will the same for many crowdfunded games, especially those which have Early Access. I am just supposing but, Wasteland 2, Jagged Alliance Flashback, Torment Tides of Numenera (if InXile do Early Access like Wasteland 2 since they seem pretty happy with it), and many other won't have a Day-One release on GOG. Won't have journalists' previews mentioning their name. Won't truely help the so called 'DRM free movement'.
Just other delayed release with easy official 'release' as 1.0 on Steam as D-Day.

I didn't want to play today, I just wanted to see how the release would be.
I suspected this would happen that way the day early access was announced. I don't think Pillars of Eternity will have a GOG Day-one release either even if they don't plan to use early access. In fact, I don't want to blame anyone, I am just too tired.
I have waited for too long, for too many projects with equal competition. When I see again that The Banner Saga wasn't in the GOG Summer Sale, but in the Steam Summer sale and advertised with language additions.
Really tired to see Steam everywhere. If I backed crowdfunded games, it was because DRM-free wasn't an option but the basis. Because even before early access, why bother projects which will be streamlined with Steam 'quality control' if I don't want Steam? Why should I help thus?
I am truely reconsidering crowdfunding concerning video games.

Maybe, it's just another day to wait. But I am too tired not to be sad, and too tired to be angry.

Happy gaming and/or waiting, everyone.

I love GOG but I would be pissed off if I have to wait additional 2 months for this game because of the integration of their optional client which many people doesn't even care about. Based on my experience with the beta of D:OS I wouldn't be surprised if it's a massive hit since it's probably one of the best turn-based RPGs in years. You'll lost a lot of sales if you decide to postpone the release so much. I really don't see the reason why to do that..

Rincewind81: -snip-
Looks like it's only going to be available for backers right away and for the rest on August 31st.

Here:

Look, guys - I don't know how to put it simpler to leave no room for confusion. The game will be available to KS backers for now, but without the online multiplayer component. The full public GOG.com release is planned for August 31, as our online platform GOG Galaxy should be up to support it by then.

I'm not sure about the Sunday thing. May wait for Monday, September 1st, or go with Friday, August 29. For all we know, Sunday release is also a possibility.

phaolo: If the game will be released here in few hours (or even few days).. you have just chosen a shittier DRM-full version just for.. being impatient? Well done..

I'll patiently wait until GOG gets it even it is going to be here some days after Steam release.

Nope, it will be released properly today in less than 2 hours.

So you basically just bought it at the cheapest price right now.

Same games but, gog you auto get better support, no drm, etc. That's a selling point enough for me.

They are probably waiting for the awesome summer sale to wrap up. Who would get things on steam anyway? I don't like to pay that high of a price for a game rental, I pay to own on GOG.
To those flipping me shit (tools) about my post and constructive criticism to GoG.
I own-
-54 GoG games
-46 Steam games

I waited til the last moment to see if GoG would release info about the price and release date. They dropped the ball. I purchased it from Steam on sale for $31. It now appears that GoG will not be selling it until Sept for $40 (for non-ks backers)

Game is down DL'd and ready to play :))

Where did you get the September date and the $40 price tag from?

You have just been painfully lucky for GOG's final (incredibly poor) decision.

Anyway, I only use GoG (with discounts), so nothing changes for me.

shmerl: Will the Linux version appear on GOG when Larian will release it and GOG will enable Linux support? I'd buy it on GOG then. Otherwise I'll probably wait for it to appear in the Humble Store.
The Win-GOG-version being pushed back to Aug 31, I have a bad feeling about Linux versions. How many months will they lag behind Steam once Linux support is live..? :/

Hope I'm wrong.
When I read GOG EDIT about Divinity relase I was really angry. 31st August?

I bought game in Steam vers. for 28 USD from my country seller. Sorry, I have time for games in summer. Not in September.
