With mayhem, threats of dismemberment and general gleeful good fun?
I assume we're excluded, right?

Not that I really want to enter again, I just want to sit back and watch the chaos :o
Can anyone explain a bit about what went on behind the scenes in the first game, please?

All I can see is 400+ posts, only one of which [possibly] relates to content of the final code:

The thread doesn't reveal the whole picture very well, I'm guessing.

My code was invalid, so, that means nothing :P
You may not have answered the question directly, but you have answered the question. Thank you.
Well, no one can comment on everything that went on behind the scenes, everyone only knows their own piece of the story; there was clearly a bunch of PMing going on though.

Regardless, our game turned out to be more about making up rules/voting than the code itself. Ultimately, the code segments ended up being more or less meaningless since we voted for Xyem to just give out the code randomly.

If you can find one of the Nasty Giveaway threads hosted by wpegg, that might explain it better though Dogma isn't exactly the same game.

Look at this thread for a better explanation;

The utter ambiguity of this terrifies me.
