Crosmando: Actually, I'm not a DF backer. I copypasted this from another board I frequent, where it was posted.
I hope you stub two toes.

TheJoe: It's a really rotten thing to copy verbatim backer's only updates by the way. I hope you stub your toe this week.

Were you against this Kickstarter from the beginning?

Tranquil.Suit: By the way, it's not 3.2 mil. A good chunk of it was spent on all the kickstarter bonuses and whatnot. Plus another chunk on the filming project.

Don't quote me on this, but I think it's only like 2.4 mi
I think the point is, they got well over what they budgeted for, ran out of money, asked for more, went hib etc to get more and now this lol.

Tranquil.Suit: Trying to think of a pun with "budgetting failure" and "Double Fine".
That's easy. Double Fund

Nope, I wasn't even really aware of KS back when this was going. And I'm a fan of LucasArts adventure games so I guess it would of been my thing.

EDIT: Didn't like how the Massive Chalice campaign was run though.

Did I do something to offend you? It's just information.

We are talking about Broken Age FKA Reds FKA Double Fine Adventure.
Not to be too much of a DF apologist. But their budget fell in that zone. You know what I mean, not enough for AAA production value, but too much for indie. Especially to the average reader, they see 3.2mil and think that's an insane amount of money. Given how successful the kickstarter was, everyone (including themselves) expected high production value from them.

That said, Tim has had enough experience in this biz not to make such errors.

Tranquil.Suit: To be fair, if you gave Tim an infinite amount of money, he would make one hell of an adventure game.
No, he'd probably still need twice as much money to actually finish it. ;)

Let's face it: Some devs can't perform without a publisher looking over their shoulder and giving them heat. To be able to handle freedom you need discipline.

No you just did a horrible thing by posting a statement which, at the top of the original statement, says "for backers-only". The reason those updates are private is because they contain information only for backers. Otherwise they wouldn't be backers-only.

You might as well just give us all the documentary.
