As you may know, it is not possible to activate a certain game that requires Steam over Japanese IP addresses. However, it is possible to activate that game on servers outside of Japan. To do this a VPN is required. Hence my following question.
Can someone explain in fairly simply terms how to use Amazon's EC2 service to run Steam from a US based instance? I know it's possible, I just don't know how to set it up.
So GOG community network wizards/sys ops dudes, can you offer any help in return for shiny rep?

Bah, Tor just isn't worth my time. It won't even use the strict settings to ensure IP addresses in a certain country. So scratch Tor, it isn't going to work.
Any other non-Tor ideas that aren't going to cost $15 or more?

A-Pock: I can't seem to find the free 100MB promo anywhere.

I did some research, and it looks like they discontinued that offer. Too bad.

A-Pock: their 0.74$ per 1 GB seems a pretty good deal for a casual user like me

Same here, the volume based payment plan is a winner.

A-Pock: Also, the fact that they charge you a minimum of 15$ worth of traffic sucks... hard..

Agreed, they should offer smaller amounts. The 20 GB I purchased this summer is going to last for a very long time.

I won't charge and I won't steal your account.

I have a suggestion. Due to the lack of a PM system I sent you a message from the "contact me" section of your website.

Well I finally found a free trial of a similar service to ivacy which worked. However, I may take you up on your offer in the future when this hoop-jumping is undoubtedly required for another game. As such I'm going to mark your post as the solution for now.
Weclock, no offense or anything, but I simply won't trust *anyone* with my Steam log in info. Not even my own family. I have far too much attached to it now =S I'm sure you are trustworthy, I'm just paranoid =)
Thanks all to everyone else, you're getting little green plus marks.

prakaa: NOT EVEN YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope. Unless they happen to be in the same location as me. But as this is something that requires activation outside of Japan and the only family I have (who are still alive) and meet that criteria are in the UK... Not trusting them.

Reason I figured you'd be ok with it, is because I have an assload of games myself and I understand where you're coming from, my login info was disabled as you know, so I know what it feels like. As much as I may dislike the service, I don't hate people who use it.
