I just figured out that Fallen Earth, the post-apocalyptic MMORPG, is free to play on Steam. I haven't heard much of anything about it that wasn't bad, but I wanted to try it because I love the genre.

Now, I'll finally see how bad (or surprisingly good) it actually is.

That said... I can sort of see by the responses, no one seems to have any opinion of this game. That can't be good. But, it's free :-)

I actually played the game at launch. At the time, combat was broken and the world was very...authentic. That was great if not a bit dull. The crafting system was at the time entirely player driven and I imagine it still is. It is great in the sense that you can obtain anything, but really puts an emphasis on resource collection for success. Also, at the time, prices suffered from rampant inflation. All in all I quite liked the game, but had to quit due to the demands of school. I haven't followed the changes very closely but as far as I am concerned it is definitely worth a go in its f2p iteration.

I played it for free a while back...
First of all, combat when it comes to guns is clunky as fuck. Literally the guns have no oomph and all feel weak. Melee is decent if not boring.
You get a mount for free now (some horse) that can be lost. You can lost mounts and you can make them
The game isn't boring, it's just a clusterfuck of bugs and issues.
