Those "repellent" things that burns eyes and so?

From what I have heard, their effectiviness varies greatly. Some are pretty weak and simply make people more furious, while some are almost kind of acid and eat your eyes - if you possessed one like that in Finland, youd propably be charged of possession of firearm(?!), bodily harm and what else.

If I am not mistaken, there are also sprays that paint the person in color thats difficult to remove and perhaps even spell super bad?

One very effective tool could carry with you are those keychains that make incredible loud noise - thats sure way to draw people's attention and I would image quite many robbers, even group of them, would want to flee from the scene.

Yeah, repellent stuff. I don't know how effective it would be. Never tried it. Hope it works. I mainly got it for stray dogs in case they attack me.

I'm guessing a lot of people just living in a fantasy world. No offense, guys. If the average GOGer tries to stop the bad guy with the knife, the average GOGer will regret it before death takes him. This is a community of gamers, not ninjas. BTW I've also noticed a lot of people here not really afraid of the bad guy with the knife. I don't know why. Do you guys know a knife is extremely dangerous? A knife isn't an AK-47 but it can definitely kill someone very easily. Best thing to do in all situations is run away and call for help. That is what I would do in all situations because I have no interest in getting beaten to death, stabbed to death or gunned down.
I believe if you spray someone attacking you with something other than the legal pepper spray here in the USA, you will get in big trouble.

That stuff works well. Walking around China where the guys are cooking the hot peppers and it's incredibly hard to breathe. The pepper spray is like that, but much stronger and directed at the face.

It took me a couple months to figure out what those guys were cooking.

Do, not rub your eyes when you're exposed to hot peppers, it will hurt like a mofo and require medical attention.

Knife's are lethal, incredible lethal if the person in question know how to actually use them - but i wouldnt go challenge anyone with knife to a fight, no matter how "green".

Forexample, compare baseball bat and knife -> when two people start fighting, it easily goes into submission/wrestling sort of situation, where its pretty difficult to punch or kick effectivily . So, if someone has baseball, but you -THEORETICALLY- could have chance winning someone if you "just" get close enough, because you cant hit someone with bat while youre wrestling on ground.

However knife doesnt have this kind of problem - standing or wrestling, a knife is deadly. Could actually be even more dead when wrestling.

Seriously, dont be stupid enough to go calling names on someone waving a knife around - youre very likely a stab away from meaningless death.

Indeed and even if the guy with the knife isn't good with a knife. So what? He doesn't have to show off to anyone. All he has to do is manage to stab you once or twice in certain areas and your finished. Some bad luck and that is it. If after reading this, you still doubt the killing power of the knife, go watch some Deadliest Warrior. :)

Anyway, there's one thing people dont in general think about fighting:

That is your OWN intention to KILL, MAIM or otherwise HURT the other person by intent. Have you thought of this before and have you the resolve to actually do whatever it is to the other guy, or would you pull punches in the last moment and risk getting that knife between your ribs or teeth punched down the throat?

I mean, seriously hurting someone else is going to get you in deep shit without very VERY good reason in the first place. Would you consider something like this...in that kind of situation? I bet would hesitate.

....and most likely the other guy isnt thinking about your health one bit. Especially if he/she is drunk, mentally unstable, under medicines, drugs or whatever.

The point being, this person is most likely going to hurt you without any consideration for your health - even think "Kill the FUCK!" and just do that. Perhaps the person would feel bad about it later, maybe not. ....Not like thats going to help you much if youre six feet under.

But know, that if YOU hesitate, your opponent most likely will not.

That means youre severly handicapped and have extra reason to avoid any kind of fighting.

1 Tell him to get out. If he does not, try and take him down
2 actually happened, acted first (when it was clear they were going to do something stupid), stabbed one in the balls. The others ran away
3 call the police, and make noise so he run away.

Situation 2:

A. I rarely go out clubbing.

B. I never get drunk when I do, because the nearest restaurants/bars/clubs that serve alcohol are not within walking distance and therefore I need to be sober enough to drive when it's time to leave.

C. I am female, and realize that fact alone moves me higher on the target list to these kinds of people.

Therefore: I won't be caught out alone in this situation (because I'm sober enough to retain my common sense and every bit of safety training ever drilled into me).
