(credit to Nergal01) I just felt like this deserved its own thread.

"We are pleased to announce that we have confirmed with Electronic Arts that they have licensed four more Wing Commander games to GOG! Academy, Armada, The Darkening and Prophecy should be available through the service later this year, completing the PC run of the series. Proof positive that it will be an amazing year for Wing Commander!"
But I want them NOW!

Kidding aside, awesome news.
Hopefully these are only *some* of the classics TET was talking about coming after summer. Bring it on!

Now lets hope the rest of the classics are X-COM, Command & Conquer, System Shock 1, and the big one Grim Fandango.

(I have others in my head, but these come up in my mind)
How long till? I still haven't played the others. SHIT! There goes my weekend.

Here is another one, Vampires: The Masquerade Bloodlines, I really want to try that Haunted House level heck why is that game not here while the first one is?

Oh and Mechwarrior and Dark Messiah and Rainbow Six 3.

I still suspect it has to do with the $20 Activision is asking for it, but there may be other licensing issues.

I would not care if it cost $20 here we already have $20 games here so might aswell comprimise, besides it all boils down to getting this game DRM Free.
I know nothing about the newer games. Are any of them good?

I got Bloodlines back when it was sold on Dotemu. It could also be because its a Source Engine game and Valve has licensing issues with it or something. Think it would of been here long ago.

I can't wait to get ahold of Privateer 2. Heard the game was frustratingly bad but the cut scenes seem really interesting. Ya I know, I am a bit of a FMV junkie.
Well that's certainly excellent news. :) Hopefully there will be some complete collection discount/bundle thing around then.
Do the newer games have expansions?

nijuu: Do the newer games have expansions?
There are no traditional expansions (Armada had a free add-on). There are multiple versions of some of the games (e.g. Privateer 2: The Darkening had both DOS and Windows versions) so it will be interesting to see exactly what version(s) GOG ends up with.

Hopefully the Dos version. Many of the early Windows games can barely work on my computer while DOSbox is a lot smoother and works like it was intended to.
