michaelleung: One of those associations for consumer's rights when it comes to video games. When someone tries to pass a law banning violent games sales to minors (*cough* Jack Thompson *cough*), these guys throw money at the lawyers to make it go away. It's also a nice place for networking, because there are services to help find gaming industry jobs, and even HEALTH INSURANCE, and all that stuff. It's fun.
Too bad I agree there *should* be restrictions. The only idea with laws like that is to ban sales DIRECTLY to MINORS, not ban them ENTIRELY. Parents/guardians should be able to have some kind of say in what their kids take in, that's their job. Maybe they will just buy it for them anyway. At least they have the ability to make a conscientious decision.
Oh well, flame on. :)
