Hello GOG! It's me again.

So I made a post about 1 day ago regarding if Freespace 2 supported a mouse because I don't own a joystick. But to the point, someone is telling me I don't have to buy FS2 because FS2 Open is standalone? How does this FS2 Open work?
You DO need an original copy if you want to play the original campaign. The content of FreeSpace 2 is not free. What IS free is the Open Source engine for the game and there is fan-made content that you can play with FreeSpace Open. In fact it seems that some fan made mods actually include FreeSpace 2 Open and can be treated as standalone games (like The Babylon Project or Beyond the Red Line).
