Should I buy Warlords Battlecry 2 or Warlords Battlecry 3. I have a strategy-RPG itch to scratch, and I am just wondering if WB3 is special and memorable enough for the extra cash? Thanks in advance.

I have them both and I love them both and the difference is more or less campaign related and up to personal preference.

Two's campaign is almost an extended skirmish. No story but rather you are given a map divided into little sections each ruled by a different group and given a rating of how hard to conquer and then defend. You claim one piece at a time and the game is yours.

Three is a traditional story driven series of missions ala WBC1, C&C, StarCraft, Warcraft, etc etc etc. I definitely prefer the story vibe to the skirmish but WBC2 does such a good job with the skirmish set up that it really isn't that big of a drawback for me and I totally love them both.

RTS is hands down my favorite genre so any other questions feel free to throw them out.

I like all the WBC games, but Sacrifice is superior to them.

As for your original question - WBC III is highly story-oriented, while the 2nd one in the series is just one skirmish after the other, with some strategic campaign options.
Cool, thanks for the reviews the guys. I am looking into Sacrifice, looks interesting.

Oh, and is there a game advice, or "should I buy this" kind of thread here on the forums? Just want to know if there's a better place to post this stuff. Thanks, again.

Not that I've found but I've only been here a few weeks longer than you.

Not really. You can try at either the promo page, though you will of course have a lot of other discussions going on at the same time, or at the game's subforum, though few people tend to visit those. But at least you'll see if there are any widespread technical problems with the games.

This, or Sacrifice as Licurg said.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto is well worth it for the humor, even if the strategy is unbalanced.
Well, I propose we use this thread. Or at least I will revive it now and again when I need GOG's collective wisdom :)
I haven't played Warlords but being the third in the series I'm assuming it would have more content and improvements.

Back when Warlords came out there was no such thing as "DLC" and expansion packs were few and far between. Most times developers would wait until they had enough new content and imporvements to add and release a new sequel.
