Simple question really: games that have bugs (potentially gamebreaking) that were never solved - will GOG do anything about them if reported? I am a bit uncertain if you had access to the source code of all these games or not so and considering that you state that you will tinker around the code to make old games XP/Vista compatible I assume that this is referred to the source code and not some built-in shell.
The games offered at GOG.com are the same versions as those published back in the days. We don't have the source code for the games and we can't do any in-game changes. Although our programming team is making some magic to make every game work on the modern OS. For example we have prepared custom installers for every game which helps to bypass some of the incompatibilities. Generally we're doing whatever we have to do to make it as easy as it can be to download a game, install it and play without any problems.
Ah, that's a shame. The first MAX game for instance had this gamebreaking bug which would more or less crash or freeze the game once a certain number of units were in play - which would happen very quickly with 4 players. Would've been neat to finally see someone doing something about that bug but I guess that won't happen anytime soon then :(
