A single-serving fantasy conquest!

Braveland, an adorable but nonetheless epic turn-based strategy full of fantasy, charm, and clever tactics, is available 60% off, DRM-free for Windows and Mac OS X on GOG.com. That's only $1.99 for the next 24 hours!

Braveland is a turn-based game inspired by old-school strategies with hexagonal battlefield. You will start as a humble warrior's son whose village was cruelly raided and will end as talented commander of your army. The story will take place in a hand-drawn world and cover many interesting places and characters. Various warriors will join your army - archers, scouts, healers, footmen, arbalesters, and more. With 50 battles that will test your tactical skill, 26 unit types to populate the battlefield, intense boss fights, character development, and adorable graphics style, this little gem of a game can serve as a savory appetizer for some, and the main course in the strategic feast for others.

If you thought that mighty magical heroes will never return to the land of 2D, Braveland is here to prove you wrong, for only $1.99 on GOG.com. The Gem Promo 60% discount offer lasts until Thursday, July 3, at 9:59AM GMT.
Looks like an illegitimate lovechild of HOMM and Kingdom Rush.
King's Bounty: The Legend is so beautifully done; I can't imagine Braveland can compare. I've been playing King's Bounty off and on for months, and I'll be lucky to complete it by Christmas. Still, I was happy to pick up Crossworlds during the summer sale. I'm probably set for this style of game until 2016.
looks like something at armor games

I absolutely adore the King's Bounty series and have played them on and off for ever (it seems). Whilst Braveland is no KB it does have a certain charm. Think of it as a lightweight KB where you can blast into battles without having to put too much thought into army builds, etc. A rather nice time waster all in all :)

This was my thought as well. Looks like a flash game or small mobile ap. Not sure why I would spend even $2 for a game like this with so many "real" HoMM clones out there already. :)

Thanks for the tempting explanation, Pajama. I expect I'll be reconsidering til morning!

Off the subject: I was back and forth across the Atlantic as a kid, and I remember my English pyjamas were spelled with a 'y'. (The word was stitched into the clothing, for some reason.) I've never encountered the 'y' spelling in the States, but I imagined that over there the pyjama spelling persisted. Has it disappeared, or does your name have another story to it?
Bought this in the final hours of the Great Sale. Downloaded, installed, and started playing almost immediately. I absolutely love these super casual styles of games that require almost no thought. I call them my "can't sleep" games and.. I play them a lot. Hell, I have a big Fish account full of these super casual games. I just can't get enough of them because they serve a very specific purpose for me. They scratch that very hard to reach itch that no other style of game can reach. Braveland is a wonderful example of this style of game. I just love it.

GOG, please, please get more of these games. I own well over 100 games on Big Fish, but I would gladly re-purchase almost all of them if they appeared here.
what the heck...looks interesting and is certainly cheap enough...

It resembles a Facebook game called Dragon Age (a tie in to pc game) with very similar graphics and gameplay. The huge benefit with buying this over playing that is the Facebook game severely restricts how much you can play it. Unless you pay real money. It'll be nice to have a a non-gimped version of that I can play when I want not when I can find my credit card. $2 worth of ingame currency wouldn't do much either.
Was interested til i saw it was a mobile game ...we shouldnt encourage mobile games....;)

No, you're right, in the UK pyjamas are still spelt with a 'y' and yes, my name does have a story to it :) I was looking for a user name one day (many moons ago) and couldn't think of anything at all, so in desperation I took the initials from my partner and my dogs names and added them to mine and got Pajam. I then just added another 'a' on the end. It is also a nice way to remember those who are no longer with me - I told you it was many moons ago - so that is how I came by my user name :)

Anyway, if you do go for Braveland, I hope you enjoy it :)
