We have the pseudo-official one. We have the L4D(2) one. We have the TF2 one. We probably have more that I never noticed.
Now? Now we have the generic one.
I just created http://steamcommunity.com/groups/gogGeneric to minimize the need to get a new group for every multiplayer game on Steam.
As it stands, "normal" users can't create events on the other groups. Makes sense for the pseudo-official one, the TF2 one (since the events are on a server), not so much for the L4D(2) one (whatever :p).
With this one, all users can create events. So if you want to try and find some random people to go pub some BC2 or are looking for people who want to try and get Borderlands MP to work, just make an event.
Not 100% certain how this thing works, but I think it is set up so that everyone can invite whoever the hell they want. If people start abusing the event system, they get kicked out. Plain and simple.
So if you want in, post your Steam name in this thread and someone will invite you.
