Not in, but thanks and +1 for your generosity, Iain!
There are too many games I like to say that I have 1 favorite.

Since I have many to choose from, I will say "The Eidolon".

The reason I picked it is because I like dragons at that was the 2nd game I saw dragons. I played that game in an ATARI 130 XE.

The first game was from the 4-bit era (Dragonstomper) for the ATARI 2600. It's probably also the first RPG ever.

Too bad I was unable to find a java version of it.

Forgot to mention:

I'm in for Blades of Time and +1 for the Giveaway.

Iain: Prince of Persia was groundbreaking when it came to the silky smooth animation, originally came out late 80's on the Amiga but did also hit the 8 bit platforms afterwards :)
Alright :)

Thanks !
Mersi, but I think I have that game somewhere on a CD :D
Not in but +rep for you.

My favourite game from the past? Too many!
However, I would like to mention Wonder Boy.
I've played and enjoyed it a lot on my C64, even if the Arcade version was surely better.

I had Wonder Boy on my Sega Master System and played the crap out of it, even beat the secret boss on level 10x4 :)
I never get tired of telling people about my favorite game from that time: Trinity, 1986 Apple 2e, Infocom text game.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X8xp-DxhJ8 Believe it or not, a youtube video exists of someone playing this text adventure!

For iOS users, an Infocom pack that includes Trinity: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lost-treasures-of-infocom/id577626745?mt=8

For the rest of us, you can find it downloadable on abandonware sites. Need an emulator thingy.

I know I have seen it in java in a webpage, playable online before, but I cannot find it now. If anyone can locate it, please post a link!!!

This game has the perfect mix of literary literacy, fantastical not-quite-logic puzzles, social commentary, sense of wonder, and sense of urgency and impending doom. "A surge of perambulators..."

I'd like to be in for Blades of Time.

Cheers.

Not in, but have a thanks and a BUMP for your generosity :-)

Lunar Lander was a personal favourite, and Atari used to have a nice version on their arcade site, but then they casualised it to promote Win8, and now with their financial troubles, it seems to be constantly unavailable :(

Thanks! I'm not entering but I like the topic so I will share some videos later when I have more time. :)

(I'll either edit this post or wait until winners are announced to not clutter things)
Not in but just the nostalgia buzz from the thread is enough for a salute and a +1. Give me a holler if Aztec or Conan comes around.

Scratch that. Aztec would be good, Conan was too damn frustrating. Goddamn gems disappearing right after you bust your ass to get to them! Fuckers!
Giveaway has now finished, not to many entries. However the winners are :

Reever - Karateka
Big Boss - Blades of Time

Steam keys have been sent to the winners

Just wish I could have given keys to everyone with there being so few entries.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to partake in the giveaway :)
