Been playing with nGlide recently and I'm just wondering how you can tell which one of the dll files you need for any particular game. As I understand it (and please correct me if I'm wrong) but the different dll files are for different versions of glide, but some games I've tried (e.g. Carmageddon Max Pack) only use glide2x.dll. How do you know which dll is needed?

From what I remember I believe the different versions of Glide were for the different type of cards available (I could be wrong though, its been a long time!!!)

I think glide3 was primarily for the Banshee based cards (all in one cards, not the addon cards like the Voodoo). So glide was for the first generation and glide2 was for the Voodoo 2 second generation.

Games only target particular Glide version(s) so the file it needs has the same name as the one it already has (if any). According to the nGlide forums you can make a game use the latest nGlide DLLs by installing nGlide and then deleting whichever DLL is included in the game's folder. This will then make it look in the system folder instead.

Games that don't include their own DLL will also look in the system folder.
