Seems like suicide to jump into the game client business now of all times, but it's DRM free according to the article above so I thought it worth mentioning here. Of course they sell MMOs so... yeah, I dunno.

I downloaded it to try it out and you can't even maximize the window or go back to the store home page by clicking store, so early days yet obviously.

Edit: That should be store in the headline, not story, obviously.

It'll be a tough market to break into but if they can find a niche focus they might survive through the startup pains. More DRM free competition sounds good to me so I wish them every success even if the odds are stacked against them.

At the very least it might be nice to get some DRM free games that can't come here because of GOG's worldwide policies.
kinda remind of pwi and arc
well even being drm free its still from trion worlds so im not sure how independent from their own game catalogue they will be and by looking at the first page its basically their own homemade platform for their games so far, we will see how it develops i guess
Part of me kind of wishes that GOG fielded MMOs, or something to that effect. Though I guess technically that wouldn't be DRM-free since they're kind of multiplayer only.

Convenience/laziness.

And that GOG doesn't have any wallet service, + the users vocal against any online connectivity including multiplayer and online updates that trap them in a hell that they paid an arm and leg to avoid. So it's not going to happen. ^^

Yeah, I can still dream of seeing Guild Wars here one day.

GOG doesn't really have much motivation to do even a limited version of it. Sigh.

Well they would be "kinda" DRM-free if they give you the server to set up your own "free shard" like many existed for Ultima Online.
