I decided to start a thread, in which we can speculate / discuss upcoming Christmas deals.

What kind of GOG Christmas do you suspect is coming? Will there be a calendar / free gifts?

I'm pretty eager about this, since it's my first Christmas here on GOG. :D

I think last time it was a developer sale for 1 developer for the duration of it.

I'm guessing we'll have a mostly store-wide sale similar to last year.

It's anyone's guess at the moment, the guys who already know it (GOG employees) are also the guys who know how to keep their lips sealed. ;)

My personal guess is that we won't see a store-wide sale, but more daily offers like the "vote the game" offers in summer. These were pretty good in directing users' attention to the store each day, giving an incentive to people to spread the news (vote this game, and we'll get it at 60% off!), and GOG probably still sold some other games without needing to put them on sale (especially those that can't be bought elsewhere).

For several months now, GOG has tried to do things a bit differently than the other stores during the big sales periods. They still provide great sales during these times, but they try to do it in a way that's less ruinous (in the not-so-short term) than competing with Steam's or Amazon's prices catalog-wide would be. I think that this trend will continue.

But as I said, it's pure guesswork at the moment.
