It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Recently the GOG downloader was updated and ever since I have had to use it i get an adobe air error saying that the application has encountered a problem and needs to close, once i start it up a second time it works fine, but if i restart my PC i am faced with the same error again. I am just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem, and have they found a way to solve it.
PS its not causing me any problems its just an annoyance
Thanks,
Kalemoth

I have the exact same problem, and my solution is exactly the same. Would be nice to be fixed.
I haven't yet...Have you sent a message to GOG about it? I think their is a downloader FAQ on here somewhere. Anyways, it is probably Air just being the piece of shit program it is.
did you update adobe air as well?
also check if it isn't double listed in your programsfolder.
try reinstalling the update.
Pfff, you hosers are using that damn downloader?? Use Opera and forget all that stuff. Never had a problem DL'ing GOG's stuff and I did it from the US AND Poland...

I use DownThemAll for Firefox. Only a fool would use the GOG Downloader. At least until it's either not AIR-based, or it's actually usful, like the Steam client or something.
I joined GOG a couple of days ago and had my first bash at downloading yesterday. Downloading via a browser failed at 98% - curses!
So I downloaded the GOG downloader onto my computer. Downloaded OK, but every time I tried to install it I got the Blue Screen Of Death. Admittedly, this could be a problem with my computer which every so often, for no reason at all, plunges into the BSOD and is generally being a pain these days, so that I feel I really need to reformat.
This computer is an Intel Core 2 Quad running Windows XP Pro SP3 .
However, this entry has a happy ending.
Despairing of the desktop, I fired up my fairly new notebook which is running Vista home Premium and downloaded the GOG Downloader onto it. The installation was smooth and it worked perfectly as I downloaded two games of approx 4gb in no time flat with no errors.
So my judgement on the GOG Downloader is that it all seems to depend on what computer you are using.
I use the downloader because 1) Firefox freezes whenever I used Downthemall and the such, and 2)...It's just convenient for me.

For most games on here that are smallish is size I generally use firefox its just the larger games >300MB in download size that i use the downloader just in case the download fails or gets interrupted, i have no problems with the downloader besides the restart bug.
And yes i could use some other program with an auto-save/resume feature but i just find the downloader handy to use thru gog's account page
