Extremely well written, actually.

The Book of Unwritten Tales, a point-and-click adventure that spoofs all of the popular fantasy worlds, is available 50% off on GOG.com. That's only $9.99 for the next 24 hours!

Fantasy and comedy go together in perfect harmony. Side by side with their swords and puns, oh Lord, they mix nicely. We all know--fantasy tropes are the same, wherever you go. There's fun to be had, for everyone. Eh, enough with the song. The point remains: the fantasy and comedy are two things that were meant to be together like bacon and eggs, like peanut butter and jelly, like Belle and Edward. Urgh. Maybe this is not a good day for metaphors. Fantasy is fun. Nuff said.

The Book of Unwritten Tales references almost all imaginable popular fantasy worlds, that you visited in your books, movies, and games. It's an intelligent parody made with a visibly tremendous amount of love for the genre. Possibly a little bit over-the-top, from time to time, but still very light-hearted. The jokes that the game delivers are spot-on, and you'll have excellent time recognizing the twisted image of your favorite moments and places. All this comes in the form of a classic point-and-click adventure with impressive and detailed visuals, quirky characters, and professional voice acting. Whether you're a Terry Pratchett reader, a World of Warcraft player (by the way--happy birthday, WoW!), or a fan of Peter Jackson's vision of Lord of The Rings, you'll have a blast playing this one.

They say that laughter extends your lifespan. With The Book of Unwritten Tales you can extend yours by a couple of years easily*, for only $9.99!

* Tested on goblins. Outcome may vary in human subjects.
Goddammit, I want this game .... But I have to resist. I cant afford it. Plus to much back log .....
Fantastic game.
I bought it elsewhere on sale a couple of months ago.

Excellent, excellent game. Highly recommend it if you're hesitating. One of the best adventure games I've played in a while.
Still too much for a version that's missing the original voiceovers. At least from my point of view - for those who don't speak German it might be a good deal.
I'd like to suggest adding an old game to gem promos that feature new releases. That would give us full-time nostalgia gamers (i.e., owners of slow computers) all the more reason to look forward to Wednesday.

dquadros: Add to that a long backlog of games from previous promos... Gog is making me a Game Collector not a Game Player!
That conversion happened to me AGES ago... LOL
No German language (in a German game) = no deal. :-(

Oh, really? I guess I might go for an adventure game overload then. After beating Deponia 1, I'm still in the middle of Deponia 2 - haven't had much time to play anything during the last few weeks due to me moving to a different city very recently - I definitely will be grabbing Primordia, so this may be my fourth new adventure game within a span of two months. I only have to give the demo a whirl to see how well my lappie can handle this game.

I'm really glad to see that adventure gaming has had a bit of a resurgence of late.

This is a steal for 9.99!!! Anyone who doesn't have this game yet and has been wanting to get it should jump on this promo ASAP! You will not regret buying this game if you love adventure games. I loved this game, so I reccommend for everyone to support this developer :)
Funny trailer, very nice graphics.... Another tempting promo...
Gaaah! I haven't even taken advantage of the Pick 5 pay 10 promo yet, and Gog turns another game from my wishlist into a promo? Are you trying to bankrupt me? IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT??

Well guess what, it won't work! I'll make do somehow. Your ill attempts might hurt my wallet, but it won't be enough to bring me down!

Now if you'll excuse me I gotta check how much a kidney is worth on eBay these days...
wishlisted for now.
Hmm, i shoud start beating away on my GoG backlog soon.
SOLD !
Damn, of all the weeks for this to be the gem promo! 'Been wanting this game for a while, but with all of the other sales going around I, like a few others, will have to pass on it this time =( It looks great, though. But between the 5 for 10, and Steams sales, I've already quite literally bought 10 games for around 20 dollars total, so it's hard for me to justify buying one game for 10 dollars right now. Will definitely pick this one up in the future, though!

Also, in case any fans of this game were unaware: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3005129 Now would be a good time to pick this one up if part 2 is coming out next month.
