Right so not sure why but Gog installers are forcing my computer to restart after install, they do not do so on my brothers machine so i am confused.

Divinity: Original Sin and Strike Suit Zero Directors Cut are the recent offenders. My OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

Any help? as google was useless for this issue.

Did the installer also install DirectX, .Net, or XNA on your computer as well? It's possible that those programs are forcing a restart.

They shouldn't. Only possible case is if they install dependencies that require restart, like .NET or DirectX, that your brother's machine already has.
Do verify that the installers are correct, either through the digital signature (for single file installers) or through the integrity check for multi file installers.
have a look at your windows event log
Everythings up to date on my machine, installers went through an integrity check before install and I have no idea what i'm looking for in Event Viewer when it comes to windows logs.

The Event Log gives a list of all major events that occurred in Windows. A forced restart should be listed in there as well. Check the "Summary of Administrative Events" window pane.
Ok my bad, seems some VC redist 2012 was failing to install due to currently installed version being borked (i think an application i unistalled messed it up). It's now all fine and no more forced restarts, sorry about that.

I figured it was something like this. usually software needs to perform a reboot after it changes or needs to change a file that is locked and open or in use by windows. it saves information to make the changes whether it be to rename or copy or move or such, some time during boot before windows has fully loaded itself up, before the facilities that use that file are loaded. probably some microsoft installer had screwed up and left its information behind, and it was triggering every time you installed something.

in the future, you can haul pending file operations out of this key. and also the event log should clue you in to any problems also

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations
