Ah, did not know that. So I guess to the point of this people in the thread, Direct X 11 is not even possible for laptops right now (or at least for ATI/Nvidia).

Maybe you can e-mail gog and ask what notebooks and netbooks they use for play testing before release.

zolop: That is a really good idea and should be a sticky in the general forum. I do plan on emailing them still because it would be interesting.

Well so, be polite and ask them if we have permission to post it. After all, gog is a private company.

Really, maybe I'm wrong. They haven't quoted models or anything, but said something about "our test notebooks, netbooks".

I would pay more for less powerful technology If I were to buy a mac though, I mean its great for First party hardware/software (I have used Macs in college for Graphic Arts, check briley.smugmug.com) but I know I can get slightly better technology for the money PC wise.

I'm only getting a MacBook Pro solely for Final Cut Pro. I know what it's like.

NOTE: I could try to quote the previous reply, but it would be a mess and I keep on messing it up, so I was suggested to send GOG.com a email about recommending laptops on their forum by Taczillabr.
When I send a email to this I will suggest that they put recommended laptops. I can understand if they cannot because of legal reasons or if they just don't want to.

I am looking to possibility purchase a Laptop but don't really want to spend a lot of money of features if I am going to play mostly old and GOG games on it. For example I still have the original Baldurs Gate 2 + TOB and Planescape Torment.
Important Factors...
1-Able to play most or all upcoming games on GOG. Able to play all games on GOG currently too.
2-Price
3-Heat (Since it generally will be on my lap most of the time). 3rd Party Heat dissipation option?
4-Has to be able to use Direct X 9 through 11. If increases cost dramatically for Direct X 10/11 cards on a laptop then a card the initially is for Direct X 9 is good.
