With the summer sale going on it is hard to pass up the chance to pick up a game or two. I have most of the "big name" titles on GOG but with sale I am willing to take a chance on a game I do not know much about. (I bought King of Dragon Pass on a whim a while back and loved it). I am sure that I am not the only one who feels this way.

I thought I would start a thread for recommendations of games lesser known games on GOG to help out my fellow impulse buyers who are looking to go out on a limb and try something new.

Of course I would King of Dragon Pass an amazing complex strategy game perfect for people who like slow paced strategy game how do not mind a challenge.

Also I would recommend Imperialism. One of the best nation building games I ever played that does not just copy the Civilization series.

How about the Dangerous Dave games? One of them even has a level named "Out on a Limb", tho in a different context :P

I would recommend the following (looking at the last sold games on GOG and working myself up)
Pathologic An odd game that mixes several genres together into a hard to describe game. It has elements of adventure games, of survival horror, of shooters and so on. It has some rough edges, and the localization is less than stellar, but the game is just so interesting that I would highly recommend that people at least give it a shot.

Sherlock Holmes: Secret of the Silver Earring A solid adventure game that feels rather Holmesy.

Why has Magic Carpet 2 sold so poorly? It makes no sense, this is not a lesser known game, it is one of bullfrog's famous classics. Get it.

Etherlords 2, mixing elements of King's Bounty/HoMM & TCGs like Magic the Gathering, this challenging TBS is an interesting and rather nice looking game. I think that Etherlords 2 is quite an improvement over Etherlords 1 (which was still a fun game).

The Last Express is a beautiful adventure game where things move in real time, which is quite different from most other games of its genre. The interesting plot also helps.

I've got both King of Dragon Pass and Imperialism 1&2. So far I've only played KoDP and then only on my iPad (which it's also available for). It's unique, almost like "playing a poem". I''m not completely sure that I'm playing it properly yet, it requires you to become fully steeped in the lore of the gameworld and to remember this lore. I haven't played it for a while but will definitely be having another go. To start with it seems very basic but it isn't.

Alpha Centauri is another. Jagged Alliance 2, Silent Storm (not sure if this is on sale ?) These are the titles I own which might be describable as "out on a limb".
