GOMO is one of the games here that doesn't seem to find any traction, even during the recent Insomnia sale. It appears people don't even want it for cheap, but how about for free? This is not a bad game, it's actually rather cute and charming. If you have young kids they will probably love it and if you yourself can switch your mind into childhood mode, you'll enjoy this as well. Try to not always judge games by price vs. performance and you might be pleasantly surprised. You can even casually launch a nuclear missile in this game and sit on a bench and listen to chanson music afterwards, in what other game can you do that? It's also a very easy and short game so you won't have to worry about creating more 'backlog', 2 hours or less is all you need for this one.

I have 3 codes, to participate just say you're in and share a story about how a pet of yours has run away or gotten abducted. It would be nice if your story had a happy end but I'd prefer the truth in any way. I had a dog for 17 years and it used to run away a lot so I sympathize with the game's protagonist who has to find his pet dog (abducted by aliens in his case).

Entries for the giveaway open until Sunday evening 20:00 C.E.T
Feel free to post your story even if you don't want the game.

EDIT: Giveaway concluded 1 day earlier so the winners can play the game on Sunday :)

I am not in but +1 for the giveaway.

My old dog as a kid used to always run away. Every time I was chasing behind him as fast as I could which only made him run faster. Then I had to carry him all the way home. He loved it.
Not in but thanks for the giveaway!
I'm in.

I posted this story sometimes ago here on GOG, but I had two little dogs, some months old each one. One night when my brother came back home, he left the gate opened, and they run away.

I searched a lot for days, then after a week or so one of my two dogs came back, the female one, Nala.

Sparky didn't come back, I dunno what happened, and honestly I think it's better this way. Maybe he is stille alive, I hope so.
I'm in.

Our last family dog, Browny, ran away during a garage sale. Well we don't know exactly what happened, only that he was nowhere to be found at the end of the day. A search was organized and he was found later that night a few miles from home. I kind of wish that he got in someone's car to get there because there is two very busy street, one with four lanes, between home and where he was found.

He was also the dog the family had the longest, from puppy to old, from living with 4 humans to only my father after me and my brother moved out and my mother died. It was sad when my father told us he had to have him put down because of old age.
Not in (even though GOMO is actually on my wishlist) - I just have too many P&C games on the go right now (damn you loony puzzles!!!).

BUT:

I've recently aquired a new black cat - who was a stray. By recently I mean on Friday September 13th last year - thats when it began regularly visiting the garden and eating the scraps we'd put out for our crows. By the onset of winter, we had built it a shelter behind our wheelie bins with rudimentary heating in the form of hot water bottles and microwavable wheat packs. We did this because our own cat is not the most sociable animal and was herself a stray - we didnt want her to go missing as a result of bringing another pet in the house. That, coupled with my dads alzheimers and his dislike of that cat was good enough reason, but she was well kept out there - warm, sheltered and fed three times a day and given attention.
After my dads death earlier this year, and the warmer weather creeping in, our cat began to venture outside again, and got on with our "hobocat" ouside just enough, that we began letting the stray in for short visits.
She now lives here full time - though due to her kitten like curiosity I have to sleep on the sofa every night now just to make sure she doesnt open the oven or the fridge and climb in or jump on top of one of the tall cabinets (hse is MASSIVE!).
We'd love to get her back to her home, but her kitten like ways coupled with her age (at least four according to the vets when we took her to see if she was chipped) suggest she may have escaped a long time ago - or perhaps she was mistreated / neglected. We don't know.
Thing is when I was about three, our cat at the time went missing - and was found to be living similarly with a friend of my dads some six months later - so there is hope.
Not to mention the countless dogs and cats ive found before and returned to their homes.

Anyways, ramble over and cheers for the GA!
Not in, but thank you for the giveaway! If I hadn't gotten it bundled before the sale, I'd definitely be in! :D
What is this GA doing on the third page? Bump! (I'd like to win but would rather it was not by default)

not in! +1! :)
I'm in for this great giveaway. Gomo seems funny ! +1

Unfortunately, I don't have a funny story to tell about my cats who run away or disappear because happy ending never happened for me !

I always had cats and some of them disappeared and I never refound them.
I moved several times in my life and cats are territorial animals.
One of them was old and lived in a rural town before my moving in a bigger city. It has disappeared the first day, maybe to return to its first home.
One other disappeared in front of my house an evening, some years later. I don't know what's happened to it !

I hope they found a good home, but I'm convinced they were hit by a car or worst : some bastards abduct cats to throw them to dogs for dog fightings or just for the insane pleasure to kill them. Some others use their skin for fur coats or for... little cats figurines.

You're always welcome to change your mind, just let me know. GOMO doesn't have any loony puzzles so it's a breeze to play through even if you're overloaded with adventures already. I'm currently playing 14 point & click adventures (some of which I started 20 years ago...) and I'm stuck in half of them and not overly motivated to continue with the other half which is why I always acquire and start new ones. GOMO was a relaxing change of pace, there is only one 3x3 sliding block puzzle that I found a bit aggravating because I prefer classic item based type of puzzles. After about 25 minutes, I got frustrated and started randomly shuffling around those blocks while cursing at the monitor. Then I realizes how silly that was. I'm rather calm and composed in real life but this little computer game is making me mad? Once I calmed down, I was able to solve the puzzle within 5 minutes which is strange, I thought only thinking solves puzzles but emotion plays its part, too.
I'm in!

Long ago I had a cat run away. He was the nicest and most friendly cat I had ever known. The family looked everywhere for him, but we couldn't find him. Even though we couldn't find him, I had always hoped he found a good life in the wild.

Not in but thank you for gifting this fun game ! (oh if anyone wants to know what's going to be bundled within a couple of weeks, just ask me what I bought on sale recently ;-p)

My old dog, Gus, was a stray that I adopted from an animal shelter. From the massive sores on his body due to hair mats, he'd been on the street for quite some time or his owners weren't grooming him and they had not put a tracking chip in him. But since he still refuses to learn and speak English, I guess I'll never really know what the first five years of his life were like. However, I did make sure he never had the opportunity to get out and follow his nose wherever it might take him...
