michaelleung: They would also sell the play in paperback form with a fugly game-based cover featuring lots of titties and would downplay the whole ugly witch aspect.

But who doesn't like titties?

This looks terrible.
IMO, it could've worked if 1) You used tertiary characters as the protagonists e.g. Rosencratz & Guildenstern, Grendel 2) they made it a platform game
I think some of the best games based on classics were loose adaptations of the source material. God of War is a good example of this. Close adaptations tend to focus more on the adaptation than the gameplay.
Haven't played Dante's Inferno yet, I'm sure it has next to nothing to do with the Divine Comedy, but it doesn't look terrible. Plus, if it's vaguely in the ballpark, I'm Ok with it because it'll get the kids reading it.
I'm actually glad to see people interested in the source material. It's good. Too bad this game isn't exactly GoW.
Aside - best Shakespeare adaptations IMO - Romeo and Juliet (Baz Luhrman), Tromeo and Juliet (Troma), Hamlet (Mel Gibson), Ran (Kurosawa adapting Lear). I hate Brannagh.
