I have looked and looked for the past 2 days and have yet to find this anywhere on the site. Is it possible to monetize games bought on GOG for youtube? Or would I have to be a TGS partner/have documanted consent from the publishers? Me and a friend want to get a Neverwinter Nights series up and rolling but are afraid of getting flagged.

So basically you want to post let's play videos of your GOG games on youtube?
Technically it should fall under fair use rights.
You want to earn money on let's plays? I'd say it's a shady area....

But GOG won't kill you for this. Maybe Bioware, but I don't think for older games like that...
Might need to ask all relevant parties, ive seen playthroughs taken down off youtube for different games in the past

Pretty much every LPer is earning money via youtube ads. It's really nothing uncommon.

And some of them disappear without a trace :P

As far as I know, "fair use" doesn't include earning money?
Contact GOG and the producer of the game in question. Might be tedious if you're planning to do a lot of LPs but might be worth because of the potential profits with YouTube ads.

Are you already a Youtube partner? You'd need to be to "Monetize" videos. What's your channel?
Fair use is a very complicated subject. If you haven't done so already you might want to check out youtube's own information on the matter. It probably wont answer your question, but I found it quite informative in the past.

Generally though I would agree with keeveek. I occasionally watch an LP'er and he has had nothing removed to my knowledge. But the distinction is that he doesn't make any money from his videos. Once you start to monetize copyright work you need to be far more transformative in how you use it. Far more than an LP. But I'm certainly no expert, and most of my knowledge just comes from the link above. I'm sure someone else can provide a better answer!

As for GOG, I don't really see that they can stop you, but asking couldn't hurt if you want to set your mind at ease.
