Hi guys,

I was just thinking of a car racing game I played a long long time ago (likely pre-1999).

It was a racing game with many deadly obstacles on the road, especially blades that sprung out of the ground and vivid colours (purple etc.), it was played from a third person perspective; the tracks were sometimes flanked by high walls.

I remember that any car that went through the blade segments would still run afterwards but be much slower and put out plumes of black smoke.

Does anyone remember a game like this? For old times' sake? :)
Sounds like Spy Hunter

Was it a top-down view?

There were blades in SpyHunter?
I think there were road traps like that which you had to avoid, but the OP might be thinking of Carmaggedon.

But it's difficult to say really.
RC Pro Am and Micro Machines had saws and metal barriers in the road but those are way old going back to my childhood.
Definitely not Spy Hunter as that was a top down view, so no high walls to speak of. Also, I don't recall any blades in that game, either.

It sounds like something that would be right at home in Quarantine II: Road Warrior, though I don't think that is the game you are looking for...
Thanks for replying guys, it is kind of a tough one, I had a lot of fun with it years ago but it's hard to find again. Thanks for trying.
