Hey all,
Here's my problem. My gf's 10 year old son started up his new Xbox yesterdaay morning, (it's only about 6 months old) and went to fire up a game, and his profile was missing....when we went into settings/memory/storage, ect., it was listed as "corrupted". I did a little online research, and found that while this isn't all that super common, it isn't unusual for this to happen for any number of reasons, and even unknown reasons. Anyway, could have been a power spike, xbox just didn't save his last game properly (he has always been careful about shutting it down properly, and waiting for saves to finish before moving on, so I am sure these types of things aren't the cause). But regardless of the cause, here's the problem. His XBox has never been online, or connected to XBOXLive, so the usual procedure, is to delete the corrupted "profile only", so the saves ect. remain on the harddrive, and then you redownload your profile from XBOXLive and can then re-install your saves that way. As he never went online, this can't be down unfortunately. Does anyone here know if it's possible to make a new profile, and then somehow recover those saves to it, without pulling the harddrive and screwing around with it on the PC to find them? That's definitely not gonna happen, as it's still under warranty, and it otherwise seems to be working fine, with the exclusion of the poor kid losing all his various game saves :(. From what I have found online, it pretty much seems he is screwed, since he has never been connected to XBL and the Cloud.
Any thoughts, or suggestions?
I have some saves on my XBOX from a few of the same games he has played like Forza 4 ,and Call of Duty. Would I be able to at least transfer some of my game saves to his new profile on his xbox, or would I have to make another profile in my own name on his xbox to be able to use them on his?
Appreciate any thoughts or advice guys
