This looks interesting but is it any good. What's with all the jrpgs being made for the PC at the moment every time a look there are about 4 more out there.

If you want to play JRPG on PC, there are many freewares around, such as Exit Fate, Last Scenario, or Barkley, Shut Up & Jam: Gaiden (it's a JRPG about post-apocalyptic basketball)

The impulse forums seem to have the developer on board which is good to see.
There's some constructive comments and feedback for patches/updates and some questions on the game itself.
I may pick this up whilst it's still on offer. Note, the developer agrees it is a JRPG, but has ensured theres more action than dialogue in this game (that's not to say the NPC's don't have anything to say!).

Looks interesting enough, but I only have enough money for a single game at the moment, and I'm waiting to see if M&M6 is released here on Tuesday.

I kind of wonder if I would enjoy a game like this or not. I really liked the old JRPGs on the SNES, but after the Playstation era I pretty much got sick of that entire genre, and I'm really only interested in western-style RPGs now.
However, I still enjoy those old games like Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and Secret of Mana from time to time. Is it just because I've already played and enjoyed those specific games, so I don't mind going back to them? Or has there been a shift in the presentation of modern JRPGs that doesn't agree with me, which I've mistaken for distaste for the genre as a whole?

I was kind of tempted at first, but the game doesn't seem to have a good story and the characters look pretty generic... So I rather play any SNES jrpg instead.

Holy crap, Sander actually polished up EF and turned it into a proper game! Talk about a blast from the past. The guy who made that game was a regular at a forum I frequented back around 1999-2004. The original iteration was a fairly simple RPGMaker based game released around 2003, with most of the characters named after forum members, but was still fairly enjoyable. I'll have to play through the newer version to see how it's progressed in the 6 or so years since the initial release; I'm also curious to see if the character based off of me made the cut in this latest version.

I enjoyed Anachronox. Hopefully that makes it on GoG. With all the latest fixes/mods bundled in.
