SpooferJahk: Can never go wrong with some Bejeweled!
Or one of the million iterations of Angry Birds.

I second Race the Sun, Puddle and especially Botanicula, such a lovely game.

An also often overlooked gem is Stacking. It can be a little repetetive, but on the whole is a very entertaining game, especially if you want to play all the pranks. Length depends on if you are a completist. If you try to do everything (some puzzles are very creative, but hard) it's totally worth its money. If you just want to "get through" it can be very short and I would probably wait for a sale.
Quite the selection to start to work through. Thank you everyone for your input. I think quite a few of these titles might work out just fine. Thanks

xxxIndyxxx: I Always recommend the first Plants vs Zombies
Started playing this a few months ago and I really liked it. I always saw as something very small and simple( which never got my attention), but I got it for free in Origin and realized I had a wrong idea about it. It's really fun. Unfortunately my game save files got erased (I don't even remember why) and I only played a few days after that.
Not read through the entire post.

Dungeons of Dredmor is nice and light. Shame its not on GOG but at least its DRM free at Desura

That's a rogue-like right?

I do like my rogue-likes (much like my shmups -- I am also horrible at both), but I understand that genre is an acquired taste. Like an arcade-style "let's keep trying" RPG more than a traditional "let's build something slowly" RPG.

Although if someone does like the genre, try Pixel Dungeon on Google Play (Amazon Android, et al.) -- it is a totally free, no-permissions rogue-like game that's pretty fun. Though each floor is randomly procedurally generated, there are only 25 or so floors to go through.

Yes its a roguelike. Very tongue in cheek and so many different abilities to try.
Progress Quest is pretty casual, being a set and forget game.
The current Indie Royale bundle includes Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren's Call (a little cheaper than on Steam but including a Steam key).
Minecraft in peaceful mode - you can be creative or you can just explore (or both).
As my friends have said to me since it came out -- that is not a game. It's like an hourglass that's fun to read now and again.

Similar games like Megami Quest have a little more involvement.
my new favorites are Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/297590/ ) and Shattered Planet ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/305640/ )
Unfortunately they are not available on GOG :(

but Mousecraft is also great and it is here: http://www.gog.com/game/mousecraft
