Is it in a way better aged than Rainbow Six 1?

How does the controls work?

It has aged approximately 11 and a half years.

You guys know what I mean by aged not when did Arma Cold Assault released, I meant does it still holds up by today's standards compared to newer released Arma 2?

It's still as ugly as it was considered to be at release date, the mission scripts are still as awkward and occasionally unpredictable as they were at release date, you still have to WAIT FOR A FUCKING BUS at the beginning of Resistance... I'd say this game has aged like a stone arrow head - the shape is the same, but the functionality is slightly outdated, except for niche users.

But the mod community has rolled back the years quite a bit.

Haha I read the title and thought this guy must be confused, I didn't realize BIS had renamed Operation Flashpoint: CWC.

Anyways I haven't played it in ages so I'm not sure how well it's aged, but I do remember the campaign being excellent so it might be worth it just for that. Mission design was solid, and varied, there's really nothing comparable these days (except maybe for the latest ARMA, which I haven't played)
