I would like to gift a game to another GOG user so I have ticked the gift box, but I'm told to put an email address in for the recipient.
But I don't know the emails of any GOG users
please help

I would say use your own, then PM the person the gift code

Put in your email and a gift code will be sent to you, then just PM the GOG user the code.

If you don't know the code, go to your "My Games Page" and towards the top there should be a tab for "Wishlist" and "Gifts." Click the "Gifts" tab and your code will also be displayed there.
